| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 12, 2009 in the beginning of my "quest for beer knowledge" I admit dunkel did not initially strike me as "the brew". but i say to all this beer is dark and not too syrup like it has a raisin like initial taste that is not overdone. This beer has a rainwater clean taste and in the finish it is busy on the tip of the tongue. the flavor steeps down to a very farmfresh wheat juice and i say so because it is juicy. a clear winner! Smelled of burnt brown sugar. Tasted of sweet malt, toffee, chocolate, and a litle grainy. Slight medicinal taste. A little thin for something so sweet, but not bad. | 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 18, 2009 Pours a clear amber color with a small, off-white head. A touch of dampness, and toast on the nose. The touch of roasted malts and a tiny bit of caramel make it to the taste; otherwise, quite watered down. Many steps above BMC, and drinkable, but not much else. WakeandBake (434), Greenville, Michigan, USA
