Its exploding all over the USA! LITERALLY!! Of course its over-carbonated, it started refermenting on the warm shelf or truck it was shipped in. Using cheap glass doesn’t help and the forty year old soda bottle filler doesn’t get steam sterilized (chemical only).

This head is VERY anxious to meet you. I had 1/4 a glass of beer and an overflowing head. A bit weak in aroma, but flavor has lots of malt, and some nutty or maybe banana flavor? Very sweet in the finish. Surprisingly complex for a lager. llbjr77 (72), Largo, Florida, USA

It took 8-10 minutes to be able to empty the bottle into my glass. Foam head was as tall as the glass. Slowly faded. Color was nice and aroma had caramel, malts and a little sweetness. Way too much carbonation. I tried to finish the pour drinking right out of the bottle and ended up with it running all over everything. Again, was excited at a dark beer, but other than the color was really disappointed. kiefdog (1605), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours a dark chocolate brown with an immense foamy tan head. In fact, the head was so large that I was only able to pour a few ounces at a time into my lager glass. Aroma is sweet and malty with some notes of caramel and sugar. Flavor is somewhat chocolatey and sweet with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel. Light to medium body with a sweet slightly coffee finish. I agree with many of the recent raters who suggest this beer is way too carbonated. Sandman2222 (42), Florida, USA

It was a good surprise though, as the beer was dark and sweet like it said it was. I enjoyed the heck out of this beer aside from the heavy carbonation which caused me to take smaller drinks. mongkut4 (132), Florida, USA
| 1.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/20 | Jul 29, 2008 I should know better than to buy a dunkel from an American micro brewer I’ve never heard of. The first indication that I made a mistake was when foam started shooting out of the bottle immediately after popping the cap. An attempt to pour the beer caused my lager glass to instantly fill with foam. Drinking from the bottle was even worse with a blast of carbonation that exceeds most champagne. This was one of the most unpleasant beers I’ve consumed recently. The flavor was sugar sweet with only slight roasted malt notes. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out some macro crap house like Miller owns Atwater. Awful stuff. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Apr 26, 2008 Bottle sampled. Pours amber/brown with a large size beige head. Aroma is prodominately caramel, with some toasted malts and chocolate coming slightly through as well. The flavor is sweet upfront, caramel, chocolate, and toastiness and bmild bitter finish. Light bodied, and thin mouth feel. Cletus (5057), Connecticut, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 18, 2008 Pours brown with a huge tan head. This one’s a real gusher on opening. Smells of fresh fruit, some tartness. Tastes earthy with a cherry like finish. Very tingly mouthfeel.
