Huge head and tempting aroma - it just doesn’t deliver on taste. Palate is medium to light bodied with minimum aftertaste. efrumtheidiot (190), Maryland, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Feb 22, 2008 pours a clear dark brown with a tan head. caramel malt, grass, some wood on the nose. taste has malty grassy notes, very sudtle roast notes. mid-bodied with a fizzy, bubbly mouthfeel. quick shot of bitterness hits on the tail end. pretty refreshing, but not very exciting. if you like dark lagers/dunkels you’ll probably enjoy it. might make a good intro brew that you could use to convince your compadres to enjoy good beer. troyc (1175), Lubbock, Texas, USA

Actually foamed out of the bottle when I opened it up (not a good sign). Dusty aroma includes some cocoa and grass or tobacco. Taste was similar, with only subtle notes of dark malts that one would expect in a dunkel. Overcarbonated as well. Maybe I got a bad bottle, but I was thoroughly unimpressed by this beer. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 25, 2007 This is a nice dunkel. Nothing to get excited about but extremely drinkable and easy to enjoy. Aroma of roasted malt with a hint of earth. Pour was a nice deep dark brown with a one finger close to tan head. Taste was a little thin...chocolate and roasted malt all the way with big carbonation that kind of takes away from the flavor. A suprisingly dry finish that is light and a tad bitter. Pretty good. jgentgesdo (564), Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA

Flavor of crystal malt and hospital coffee with a faint hops bitterness. Watery. Forgettable. argo0 (6897), Washington DC, USA
