Citrus/carmel aroma, clear yellow pour, and a nice sweet flavor that is easy on the tastebuds, with very little bitterness. lampeno420 (321), Zeeland, Michigan, USA

Light grassy taste. If the price was right I’d grab a 6 of this in a second. ChainGangGuy (2563), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
| 1.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Sep 15, 2007 Appearance: Pours a clear yellow body that is so, so fizzy.
Smell: Over this past Labor Day Weekend, my friend and I boiled brautwurst in a mixture of Warsteiner beer, white onions, and sauerkraut prior to grilling them. This beer is exactly how the remaining concoction in the stock pot smelled.
Taste: Flavorwise, it tastes like a lager crushed under the weight of all the sulpher contained within. Finishes tart, faintly bitter, and mercifully quick.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Moderate carbonation.
Drinkability: Sometimes these beers are so aptly named! All of the various Atwater beers I’ve tried recently have been nothing but a mess. kp (8399), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 20, 2007 Heavy golden pour with a strong light copper tint. Thick foamy head that settles to a steady 1/2", nice traces of lacing, and a full bodied carbonation. Lightly grassy aroma with a thick fruity scent, sort of like apples and blueberries. I really like the nose on this, sometimes it’s hard to find a lager with an abundant and pleasing aroma. Nice thick body for the style, very creamy with a good bitter finish. Great on the palate except I would discover a random soapiness once in a while throughout the beer. Flavor has a thick pale malt content, nice and grassy. Bitter and fruity hops, this is a well balanced Helles. This is more aggressive than I was expecting, and this is a good thing. Nice lager by this brewer. jtw (942), farmington, Michigan, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 17, 2007 the Hell is one of the beers from atwater i’ve had multiple times and for whatever reason hadn’t rated. but finally purchased in 12 oz bottles, i had a chance. it’s a very pale gold, with lots of cascading bubbles to the top forming a white head. aroma of corn flakes and wet cereal grains, malty-sweet without smelling sugary. flavor is typical helles malt and clean yeast profile, making it a very drinkable beer (aside from a bit of diacetyl/butteryness).
