Commercial Description:
Our version of India Pale Ale. Brewed with European Malts and Northwest Hops and then generously Dry Hopped with Cascade Hops for a nice citrus finish. Truly a Salvation for all Hop Heads!

Nice head (about 2.5 fingers) that lasted for about 3 minutes. Appearence is a light gold similar to a Sam Adams Light. Out of the bottle it was hard to detect any aroma, especally for an IPA. Initial taste was of crackers, hops and alcohol. As the beer warmed up, the aroma opened up. Hops stay with the palate for some time. A dear friend of mine has purchased me a 3 month subscription to a Beer of the Month Club. I hope this is not signs of things to come. I told my wife it tastes like BW with hops.

Received this IPA through my Beer of the Month club. Golden body with a small, white head. Light floral scent with some malt notes. High bitterness with no sweetness. Hops flavor kind of overpowers the citrus mentioned in the commercial description. I have had other IPA which have a better hops aftertaste, particularly when you have a case of the "hopurps." This has a metallic aftertaste which lingers for a bit. I have had better IPAs, with better nose and palate. I’ll give this another go (since I have two more from the club) and see if it is better at a slightly warmer temp.

Tea colored body with a smallish white soapy head. Very little carbonation. Aroma is hop and citrus. Flavor is, as the description says, very dry. The dryness settles into a slow fading bitterness. There is a malt presence and a bit of honey.

About an average beer, below average IPA. Taste is OK but nothing that grabs you. I would pass on this one.

In a world crowded with excellent IPAs, I can’t say I will again find the time for this beer. There is nothing wrong with it, and its light character and perfuminess are interesting, but I didn’t enjoy it all that much. Appearance was a very light yellow color with lots of billowing head like you might find on a secondary fermented Belgian golden ale, which is what this beer looked like. Aroma was lightly hoppy, but in a strange perfumey and slightly medicine-y way. Flavor was very lightly hoppy with a pretty big malt presence. I definitely did not get the "nice citrus finish" that the bottle promised, nor did it seem very hoppy for a beer that claims to be dry hopped. Mouthfeel was very light. Not bad, but I won’t be returning to this beer. I picked up my 12oz single at Brew&Brew in North Ridgeville, OH. Shame on you Atwater Brewing - this beer carries no date code.

A fine example of an IPA. Smell is hoppy. Rude crude hop preservative flavor that lingers like medicine. Pretty offensive to the lager lover. It’s within it’s style, what else can be said?

Pours a nice copper color with lots of head. Not my favorite IPA, it kinda reminds me of Fuller’s ESB. A slightly citrucy aroma, flavor had that plus a little malts. Not really enough hops for me.

12oz bottle from Degarth. Pours a light amber body with golden hues. A 2 finger thick monster of a head settles over the beer, and has incredible retention. Scads of cobweb lacing all over the glass once the head does die down. Leaves a layer of dense foam as well. Nose is somewhat muted, citrus hops, grapefruit, oranges, caramel malt and honey. Flavor profile is very similar, but adds a very unpleasant crushed aspirin flavor about midway through. Really kills what was a solid beer until that point. Medium bodied, slick on the palate and creamy mouthfeel. Finish is bitter hops, some metallic notes, caramel malts and honey.
