Poured a very dark brown with a beige head. The aroma is used coffee grind with a hint of vanilla. Coffee flavor a touch of vanilla and sweet malt. Medium smooth body. Sweet finish.

Bottle from Beer Club: Poured a dark dark brown with a light brown head. The aroma was that of coffee, caramel, and chocolate. The flavor was alright with a strong coffee flavor...it was a very smooth beer but I couldn’t really taste or smell the vanilla. I’m still looking for that vanilla. Decent beer overall.

Coffee in color with almost no head that fades to a ring around the glass. Aroma is like a punch in the face. It hits you with vanilla, malt, coffe, and hints of toffee. On the palate there is a rich coffe flavor which mingles nicely with the vanilla and malt. There is definately a ton of flavor but it doesnt feel super heavy. Lingering finish.

Typical porter appearance, dark body thin tan head. Aroma was very rich with vanilla along with some roasted coffee. Flavor seemed a bit lacking in the vanilla dept, it was present but very mild. Aroma led me to expect more. Water feeling on the palate.

Microbrew of the month issue. Sweet smell of vanilla, strong taste of vanilla and sweet aftertaste. Small white head with a dark, medium to full body. Microbrew of the month club sent this to me. It’s too sweet for my tastes.

Bottled. Dark chocolaty brown with a brief light tan head. Mouth feel is a bit foamy and not as strong as I expected. I can’t seem to find the vanilla taste at all, the malty chocolate and slight burnt coffee flavor overpowers any vanilla.

Pours a dark dark brown to black (looks like a stout) with a decent tan head, fizzling away rapidly. The nose is very fruity with a tart acidity. Reminds me of Bells Cherry stout. Perhaps a hint of coffee, but mostly fruity roasty acidity. Vanilla? I can’t smell it. A bit light on the tongue with higher than average carbonation and average viscosity. The flavors are very acidic. It reminds me of cola, which is unfortunately a beverage I don’t enjoy too much. Very fruity roasty acidity. Cherry coke? A small hint of chocolate and a suggestion of vanilla, but this beer is overwhelmingly sour, ala some jolly pumpkin beers... in fact, there’s something that is very reminiscent of Madrugada Obscura. A long lingering not terribly clean roasty acidity in the finish. A bit of diacetyl irks me. I need some Tums.
