This beer doesn’t look bad, with a cola color and a small off white head. It goes down hill with an awful, artificial vanilla and cheap chocolate nose. The artificial problems continue in the taste, with a slippery vanilla, sweetened coffee and bitter chocolate, all of which seem created in the lab. This is an actively bad beer.

Disappointed. Pours with bubbles similar to a bottle of coke with a head that disappears faster than a coke. Even tastes like a sour version of coke. Very thin in body. Not smooth on the palate like most porters I’ve tried.

Taste 10/9 bottle. Looks:Quickly fading tan head on a dark cherry body. Aroma: Mild vanilla and coffee with a soy sauce astringency. Taste: Same as aroma. Soy sauce hits in the middle with a coffee and very mild vanilla finish. Mouthfeel is watery and sugary.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a light tan head. Aroma of light vanilla, chocolate and coffee. Flavor was sweet vanilla, chocolate and roasted malts with a slightly dry finish.

Brewed in the USA... Pours chestnut brown in color with a small lasting off white head. Aroma of malts and dry apricots. Taste is much of the same !!! Not sure what is going on here? Where is the chocolate and vanilla? This so called porter is thin in body with stinging sour finish. :(

Bottle, from Supreme Liquors, Cambridge MA, 16 October 2009. Dark brown colour. Diminishing beige head. Quite fruity aroma, suggestion of violets, with a slight roast malt undertone but not much coffee in evidence. Sweet and disappointingly thin on the palate. Some creamy coffee notes but not much depth of flavour. The finish and aftertaste is little more than a lingering sugary sweetness. Rather sickly. Drinkable but not impressive.

I rather enjoyed this one, even if no one else seems to. Coffee, chocolate, and vanilla (a bit artificial I admit, but not bad). Smooth mouth feel that is thin for the style.

Bottle [12oz]. Pours a very bubbly, dark amber-brown with an average size fizzy tan head. Aroma of lightly roasted malt, some metallic tartness and hints of coffee and chocolate. Not really getting any vanilla. Watery flavour is slightly sour and not in a good way, along with roasted malt, light coffee and a slightly harsh, light bitter finish. Average bodied. Not awful but not good either, maybe they have bottling issues?
