Very sweet upfront, vanilla, then turns into a carbonated cold black coffee which isn’t entirely pleasent, then some coffee grinds, and finishes very smooth and sweet with vanilla and chocolate flavors. All in all not bad. jason (1623), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 10, 2007 From Alefest Columbus. Not as much aroma as I expected. Dark, as a porter should be, with a creamy head. Flavor is vanilla, coffee and not much else. This one is true to the label. And while good, doesn’t have anything really special. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 1, 2007 Bottle samped from Capones. Pours dark with an average size ltan head, that quickly dissapates. Aroma of coffee, chocolate malts, and vanilla. The flavor is sweet upfont with chocolate and vanilla, then is prodominately roast and coffee, in the finish, heavily carbonated(almost like soda). Good brew. awall422 (2), USA does not count | 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 31, 2007 Terrible beer. Vanilla must have been overly done in this batch because it overwhelmed everything else about the beer. Couldn’t finish the bottle it tasted so un-natural. Hopefully this was an aberration and most batches are better. dpjuart (670), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 31, 2007 12oz bottle from Tanaka. Pours black with thick brown/cream head. Smell of coffee, more like latte, with a hint of vanilla. Nice malty flavor, with pretty prominent hints of what tastes like a vanilla latte. Its a very odd tasting beer, but pretty good, if you like coffee. Espresso really comes through. Not bad. sirpsycho (345), Murrysville, Pennsylvania, USA

Taste is coffee, vanilla and chocolate. Easy to drink and enjoyable. hopdog (5601), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 24, 2007 12oz bottle. Poured a dark brown color with a larger sized tan head. Aromas roast, coffee, vanilla and very light caramel. Tastes of roast, coffee, and vanilla. Its not a bad beer, but I would have preferred a more in your face coffee presence (especially with Java in the name).
