Aug 12, 2009 Dark dark brown, just this side of black. Brown at the edges. Head subsides quickly.
A hint of vanilla over a very stiff, bitter coffee aroma. Burnt with hints of dark raisin and licorice. Vanilla just and accent.
An initial bitter burnt coffee malt bite. A sweet hint of vanilla. Tobacco, dark raisin. A nice bitter, burnt base, with a sweeter, milder end. Pungent and pucker at the end as it warms.
Thick, oily, smooth. A solid stout. Bitter, then sweet, then sour. Quite nice.

Aug 2, 2009 On tap at the MBG Summer Festival. Poured black with a brown head. Aroma consisted of sweet vanilla and dark coffee notes. Flavor consisted of vanilla and chocolate notes, but it became overly sweet and left a ridiculously sweet aftertaste.

Aug 2, 2009 Had this on tap at the Irish pub in Baxter. As he would say, F it, I liked it, I don’t care what everyone says. Lots of sweet vanilla flavor. Tasty brew, if not a textbook porter.

Jul 25, 2009 Bottle. Aroma is mild of coffee and very faint vanilla. Pours black with a fizzy head. Its more floral than coffee, with some vanilla extract showing pretty strong. Rather poor offering for a porter...very watery . It has a sweetness to it that ruins any hope for making this a good porter and leaves me unsatisfied. Theres some faint roastiness towards the end, but it doesnt save it. Bleh.

Jul 13, 2009 Pours a dark brown with some light. One finger light tan. Looks, smells, tastes similar to a brown ale. Nose is grainy, sweet, cloyingly so, tart, off. Flavor is grainy, astringent, weird tartness, no roast character, bad. Tart palate.

Jul 7, 2009 Draft. Dark brown, very thin and watery. Aroma is fake vanilla, weak and sickly sweet. No coffee flavor, really weak palate, and it tasted bad. Gross.

Jul 6, 2009 12oz bottle. Pours brownish red with a foamy tan head. Aroma is of chocolate, cheap coffee, toasted malt, and brown sugar. Smells rather bland and uninspiring. Taste is of light chocolate, cheap gas station coffee, vanilla, and toasted malt. Lingering taste of vanilla. I was horribly dissapointed after the bottle description. The coffee and vanilla flavors are horribly subdued, and only the slightest hints of chocolate come through. The mouthfeel is creamy and very watery. It drinks easy, but it has very little flavor to it. What a huge dissapointment. Although, if you want a light beer with the slightest taste of coffee and vanilla, this is the beer to turn to.
