Dark brown, light tan fizzy head. Light coffee and vanilla bean notes warm to hints of milk chocolate throughout. Metallic coffee flavor rounds with a fake vanilla- citrus feel. Light to medium bodied, moderate carbonation, light bittersweet finish. Had some flaws I just can’t look pass…

12oz bottle 6/9/09 (Courtesy of Immy)-Pours a dark brown with amber tints. Aroma of smoke and thats it. Taste of nothing then a little vanilla, chocolate, and smoke come across on the back end. This light to medium bodied brew has no Java and is very light and 1 dimensional. Petty disappointing.

Bottle. Dark amber brown pour, some carbonation. Aroma is rich with roasted malts, vanilla and chocolate. Although this smelled pretty good, the flavor was another issue. Nothing more than bitter and stale smoke and not much else. Bummer.

12oz from Sam’s, Durham. For some reason I had moderate hopes for this, and thus endeth the lesson. Watery brown pour certainly seems far off the mark for style. Aroma is Brach’s candy, no malts, no java for damn sure. Very thin mouthfeel, and the flavor is pretty bad, with some weird acrid smoke that is pretty offputting. A masterpiece of false advertising.

Bottle split with Pwn3d. Pours a brown watery body with no head. Aroma is bad bacon. Taste is watery and bad.

Good sized head of light brown bubbles. Light chocolate malt aroma with some roasted grains and composting grass. Not the best aroma and pretty much devoid of coffee and vanilla which I expected to find in the aroma. Slightly tart and acidic. Weak roasted grains, some dark fruit and bitter chocolate. Again, no real coffee or vanilla. Not a very good brew.

Aroma has an almost "International Foods" coffee scent, any vanilla detected may only be the power of suggestion. Dark Brown, opaque pour with a light mocha head. The coffee flavor tastes like old Folgers, is kinda acidic, and once again, no vanilla detected. Palate is non-descript. Needs a lot of work to be even a mediocre beer.

Kind of funky coffee aroma... Dark brown in color with tan head... Flavor tastes like rotten coffee, not enjoyable at all... Terribly disappointed... Palate is not existent.... I could and have brewed way better porters.. I actually poured it out which is unheard of for me... Disgusting...
