another pleasent beer that earns a lower rating on rate beer than it deserves. This ’robust’ porter is actually failry mellow with a sweet chocolae and vanilla taste. The flavor of coffee is subtle and complimentary. Very nice.

Sep 28, 2008 Pours dark with a MASSIVE head. Nose isn’t too bad - mostly coffee. Flavor is disgusting - way too sour and bitter for "vanilla java". Down the drain!

Sep 25, 2008 Bottle. Pours deep brown with a tan head. The aroma is all coffee beans, maybe a hint of vanilla. The body is much thinner than I expected. The flavor is again, all coffee beans, very artificial tasting. Not bad, it’s at least drinkable.

Sep 21, 2008 I had this in the bottle at Ashley’s in Westland, MI. I was unimpressed with this brew. It was watery, and the flavor wasn’t even close to the description. I’ve ranked it low, just because I expected a lot from this beer, and I was disappointed. Oh well, you win some, and lose some. Cheers!

Sep 13, 2008 I was pretty stoked about this one when I grabbed it, but was pretty let down. Vanilla Java Porter sounds awesome, but both the vanilla and java are weak, and the porter is thin and watery. Basically just weak, dry, and slightly bitter. Almost like a Guinnes, and not in a good way.

Sep 9, 2008 12 oz bottle shared at Lost Abbey Release. Not very good. Brown color with not much aromas. Flavor was watered down cardboard. Blah.
