Courtesy of Quake1028. Caramel with lightly sour musty dog and some dark fruit notes. Get a big whiff of fusel alcohol too. The body is ruby brown with a fading tan head. Caramel, dark fruit, toasted malt, fresh grains, well hidden alcohol. The finish is watery and tastes of steeped grain and fruit tinged alcohol. Decentish, but has some components I don’t get thrilled about.

Awesome label, cool name, mediocre brewer. Seasonal 4-pack showed up at the local store so I had to try it especially intrigued by the high abv, even high for the style. Decent aroma of sugary malt, anise, and a hearty dose of molasses. Dark brown with a rich red tint, very thin tan head, but no lacing. Thin body and very smooth. This drinks like a standard bock, no alcohol can be detected. I would never have guessed the strength if not shown on the label. Flavor is pretty close to style. There is the extreme sugary malt, fresh baked sweet breads with some caramel and molasses. I detected a small amount of chocolate toward the end. Pretty decent, very drinkable for a high gravity brew. I would prefer a little more complexity and a thicker body.

from the bottle poured a medium mahogany with a off white head. aroma, caramel, brown sugar, alcohol, some molasses and vanilla. flavor, got vanilla and alcohol followed by the caramel, with just a hint of the brown sugar and some fruits

Clear deep copper with a large head. Good lacing. Aroma of toffee, grains and dark fruits. Tastes of brown sugar and grains. Alcohol is well hidden. Bigger and bolder dopplebock.

Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel, toffee, molasses and dark fruits. Flavor of brown sugar, caramel malt, and figs with a small hop bite. Alocohol well hidden. A good doppelbock

12 oz bottle. Pours a deep dark reddish brown with a nice ample creamy off white head, had too much visible carbonation that was clinging to the side of the glass as if it were soda. Aroma is sweet with notes of raisin, dark fruit, and chocolate. Flavor is very nice with a mellow sweetness, slight maltyness and hints of chocolate. Mouthfeel is very creamy and super drinkable. Holy crap this is 9.5%, you would never know it. Will buy this one again.

Bottle from Capones. Pours a deep amber/bronze with a large off-white head. Aroma of toffee, caramel malts, and molasses. The flavor is sweet, slight fruit presence, molasses, tofee, caramel, way smooth for 9.5% and a slight hoppy presence.
