Pours a cherry wood with plenty of red. Small tan head that becomes small thin blotchy circles. A nice malty aroma. Flavor is bitter rye dominated. Burnt dark chocolate, dark fruit and sugar are noted. Thin feel is also powdery. Not a good dopplebock.

Pour is a dark brown with a small white head. Aroma is a decent helping of dark fruit with some sugar and sourness. Flavor is a bit of dark fruit with some roasted malt but its just to damn watery. A dopple should be a bit more complex than this but this brewer never fails to disapoint.

12 oz bottle-pours a tan head and dark red color. Aroma is mild medium malt, peat/chalky, sour. Taste is medium malt-cocoa powder, peat/chalky, sour. Minimum carbonation. Thanks jwc215 for picking this out. 2.5 part way in. Deteriorates from there to 1.9

This poured a nice reddish bronw color with an off white head. Aroma was of thick malts and dark fruits. Flavor was acutally a bit interesting, sticky sweet and malty and roasted with hitns of some sort of dark fruits I could not pick out. A bit better than I was expecting and hid the alcohol fairly well.

Bottle. Pours cranberry brown with a beige head. Sweet aroma, a bit nutty, with brown sugar and toast. The flavor has sweet and toasty malt with some strange fruity notes. Might have been a bit infected. Still drinkable though.

[bottle - 12 oz] Medium amber color with a fizzy white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with some spices, lemon, plums, wine, oak, and a light touch of hay. Flavor is light and a little sweet at the beginning with some hints of dark plums, nuts, roasted malts, alcohol, and some raisins. Finishes slightly bitter and hoppy and with a grassy taste on the tongue.

12oz bottle. pours clear auburn with creamy beige head that clumps together in way similar to mold. not much carrying the aroma but some sweet and toasted malts. flavor is very sweet, a bit nutty and toasted malts, perhaps some raisin but nothing really complex in the flavor dept. med body. decent at best.
