Sammy (3139), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Aug 24, 2007 Grapefruit colour with foam, head and lace. C-hop aroma. Good bitterness to the point of being a tad astringent. On the aggressive side of carbonation, though not bad. Medium mouthfeel. Fresh and an above average bitter style or amber style. Certainly more interesting than their regular bitter.
rederic (1444), montréal, Quebec, Canada Jul 17, 2007 Hazy dark amber hue, with a thick beige head, but falls quickly, leaving laces, yeasty, fruity nose of prunes, raisins, with some toasted, biscuity malts, with a cookie dough accent, a light nutty note, with a faint spicy nutmeg aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, toasted malt character, with some caramel and toffeeish accents, a sweet nutty and biscuity dough note, hint of brown sugar, with a light raisiny fruity flavor, leading towards a malty, subtle bitterness finish. HogTownHarry (3285), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada Sep 2, 2007 Bottle (341ml). Via trade with Viper666. Pours a clear bright refractive deep copper with an average frothy off-white head. The aroma is of light dry hops and mild caramel malt, apple and appleseed, a hint of tea. The taste is still a bit of apple, but the tea is stronger and the malt has a soft buttery feel (for once it seems like a good thing for once) - gentle, but a nice amount of bitterness. Light body, astringency and carbonation, quick finish. I liked it quite a bit. EnSiFeRuM (293), Quebec, Canada Mar 20, 2008 Bouteille 341 ml.
