On tap at the brewery, hazy dark brown hue, with a beige head, toasted, roasted malt nose, with a yeasty, subtle fruitiness, with some nice dark chocolatey, faint roasty coffee bean accent, with a hint of macha in the aroma follows through on a medium-bodied palate with a yeasty, roasty, coffeeish character, with a black bitter chocolatey flavor, a faint flowery hop note, leading towards a malty, chocolatey, roasted dry finish.

bottle labeled l’obscure. dark brown pour, not completely black. A roasty nose, some anise, and smoke. Flavour is full bodied, and chocolaty, maybe some notes of anise again, and some coffee. NOt bad, but i think would fit better in the foreign stout category.

Bu le 10/1/08, à Vices et Versa en fut (12 oz). Brune brulée, mince collet. Arome de malte très chocolaté, avec une touche de café caramelisé. Goût l`gé de café amère, quelque notes de chocolat. Un porter simple mais buvable!

On tap at the Brewery. Black color with a big brown head. Strong chocolate, roasted coffee aroma. Taste of roasted malt and chocolate, a "smoke" taste is really present too, as well as some fruits. Well balanced, I didn’t even know what was a belgian porter, but this one is quite good.
