Commercial Description:
Brewed in the classic American pilsner style, our popular pils is a tribute to the pre-prohibition lagers developed and brewed by immigrant German brewmasters as they settled in the United States in the 1800s. This is a medium-bodied straw colored pilsner with an elegant hop bitterness and lingering aroma.

A golden pils with a thin white head. In aroma, a nice grasy malt and light German hops. In mouth, a nice refreshing pils with crips malt, sharp German hops, grassy and spot on to style. On tap at brewpub, 27 August 2009.

12 ounce sample on tap at the brewpub. Herbal, spicy hop notes with some lemon presence as well. Light doughiness and some acidity is also there. Nicely aromatic. Transparent yellow body with a small white head that is quickly dissipating. Light lacing. Wow! A crazy hoppy pils. Lots of peppery, herbal hops to start with a light doughiness in the middle. Very intense, bitter, herbal spicy, metallic hoppiness to finish. Lingers for a while. This is really brash. I like a hoppy pilsener, but this is entirely over the top. Unbalanced.

Lightly malty, faintly grassy aroma. Dry, clean mals in flavor; assertive, buzzy bitterness, somewhat grainy. Very refreshing. Resoundingly bitter finish. Solid.
