harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Aug 6, 2006 A really nice and very drinkable dunkel. A bit of fruit intermingles nicely with a light bit of dark cocolate and caramel with just a bit of sweet toffee. This goes down so smooothely, and is so light in body, that next thing you know the bottle is empty, leaving you craving something more.
5000 (2400), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA Mar 27, 2007 Bottle: Dark copper, dirty soft sand colored head, spotty lacing, very light carbonation.   Pale roasted malt nose, slightly vegetal.   Soft tootsie roll like chocolate malt aspect on the tongue.   Certainly malty, slightly sticky.   Moderate body and mouthfeel.   Seems to pick up a little lactose like sweetness at the finish, as it warms.   Standard fare, but fairly solid.
joss (3076), Garching b. München, Germany Jan 4, 2007 Bottle. Thanks Pivnizub. Chestnut, brown creamy head. Sweet malt nose. Toffe, roast, heather and a hint chocolate balanced by herbal hops. Medium body, light foamy mouthfeel. Sweet aftertaste. pivnizub (3618), Porúří, Germany Nov 8, 2006 Clear, amber coloured, small and very stable head that sticks to the glass; sweetish-caramelly to malty aroma, a little fruitiness is also detectable, a distinctive touch of toasted/roasted malt as well; sweetish flavour with a little bitterness, soft MF; sweet-malty, caramelly finish with a little dash of roastmaltiness, that supports the delicate, chocolatey bitterness in the aftertaste. A decent, pleasant Dunkel, despite of its stupid name......... MoritzF (3638), Ruhrpott, Germany Sep 20, 2006 (bottle, with thanks to pivnizub) Clear, dark amber colour with a rather short foamy beige head. Slightly sweet, dark malty and slightly roasted aroma with caramel and cacao powder and dense hints of dried fruits and herbal hops. Initially sweet and moderately roast-malty taste, drying out towards the finish, which is quite bitter and roasty with caramel and notes of chocolate in the aftertaste. Slim-bodied but pretty drinkable stuff.
