The aroma is a sweet-yet stale caramel, perhaps lightly roasted. Very thin, watery palate. It tastes like the brewer intended it to be malty, but watered away the caramel sweetness. Hops appear quietly and briefly in the finish. As a dunkel, this is a so-so American dark lager.

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Dec 24, 2005 Pours light reddish-brown with medium head. Mild malty aroma. Taste was mild malt with some hop, but both were overpowered by the strong carbonation.
Definitely left a tingle on the tongue. Schroppfy (1813), Ohio, USA

I like the snappiness (some corniness mutes that a bit) but no real sweetness and even a tingly hop bite (of the pencil shavings variety). Thinner than desired, but a nice and very easy-drinking surprise. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Nov 18, 2005 This bottled brew poured a medium sized head of light brown colored fine to medium sized mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a transparent carbonated ruby red brown colored body. The aroma was sweetly malty. The mouth feel was mild and smooth initially with a tingly finish. The flavor was mild astringent and contained sweet malts with a mild hop background.
