One would think a hophead could pick up the Cascade, at least. The taste is sweet but old bread and some metallic bitterness. I wish I could say I drank this on a bet, but I did pay money for it. Luckily, not a lot.

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 1, 2005 Bottle - I noticed that there weren’t too many comments on this beer so I figured I would make it my first review. It poured light golden with little head. The aroma is weak and doesn’t add much to the drinking experience. It’s a light, easy to drink lager that should definitly be tried. It tastes like several of the danish lagers that I have tried in the past. It’s a great beer to drink with friends who may not be beer geeks. avalancher34 (38), Indianapolis, Indiana, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Nov 21, 2005 Another beer that somepeople think is an Import from Bavaria, but is actually made by Stevens Point Brewery. Still, though its a darn good crisp beer. If you love Golden, Wheat, and grain tasting beers, then you are in heaven. Also, if you love the smell of those characteristics, you have to try this beer. In my opinion, this is definetly one of those beers where you either love it or hate it. BBB63 (4232), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/20 | Oct 30, 2005 Bottle and served in my SN pint glass:
Wow, they still make this brand? I had to pick up the bottle in a mixer sixer (along with the 3 another Stevens Point brews I just rated and a GI IPA and Honkers) . Pours a clean straw hue with a fizzzy head and minimal lace. The nose is well... CORN and DMS! Veggie lovers unite for this beer is just for ya! If there is any Cascade goodness here, I am unable (even with my top notch nose) to detect any. Oh, there is some bready pale malt esters about, but so what. The taste is equally subpar, with a redeeming leafy and mild bitter quality. But geez, that veggie off flavor just killed any hope I had of enjoying the flavor found within. The palate is not half bad really, sort of refreshing with a lively and crisp note. Overall, this s**ks and I am probably being nice with my total score of 1.7, honestly. | 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Sep 24, 2005 Poured a light yellow color. The aroma is light corn and carrots. The taste has some carrots and celery. This also has some corn notes. Sampled at the 2005 Iowa City Beer Festival. Hendrix (14), Berkeley, Illinois, USA

Point got ahold of it after Huber and made it FANTASTIC!!
Like a Good German Brew without the lingering bitterness....
Take one bottle of the Golden and one bottle of the Augsburger Dark and mix it...It’s da beer bomb!!
Like Beck’s only tastier and less bitter!
Good Job Stevens Point!! MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 17, 2005 Light gold. Nose toasty, sweet, a bit bitter. Flavor is some sweet malts, bready, a mite toasty. Decent hop bite. Surprisingly hefty, good palate, accentuates the malts. This was my dad’s favorite beer many years ago and it’s actually better than I expected. Aubrey (2777), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 2, 2005 Can (on a Northwest Airlines flight): Deep yellow. Fairly rich texture; not too bad. Smooth carbonation and mouthfeel. Malts had elements of toasted bread with an underlying sweetness. Notes of corn ... rather "beery." Cascade hops were an odd addition. Finished dry and mildly bitter. Though, bitterness built in the aftertaste and left behind a stark, leafy quality. Overall, not too bad, but not great, either.
