Aroma is of caramel malts, toastiness and some hops. Flavor seems to follow aroma, but introduces a bit of carbony blackness. Cornfield (4972), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 4, 2006 Too much carbonation in this copper hued, near headless brew. Each swig demands a burp. The aroma is toasty with caramel and a trace of earthy hops. The flavor of burnt crackers and sweet caramel is drinkable, but not very exciting. Kind of a drab Märzen.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 28, 2005 Had this one bottled. This is a pretty good Marzen red. Poured a deep copper color with a thin, filmy head, nose of caramel, a little coffee, and peanuts. Taste is balanced between hops and baked bread, oats, and chocolate. While it certainly doesn’t have the oomph of German Marzens, I find this to be acceptable. Would get again. PorterPounder (3148), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

Pours a medium copper, quite sparkly, light but persistent white head. Aroma has some fresh lake water accents, a hint of mown grass. Flavor has very brief caramel notes, trace of nuttiness, a bit of metal, not much else. Mouthfeel is slighlty thin. Passable TheBeerOrg (1586), Kentucky, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 15, 2005 Updated: Oct 16, 2005Pours a light orange with a fully receding tan head. Aroma is grassy hops with some maltiness from the lager yeast. Taste is cereal grain, some cracker breadiness. Slightly metallic, bitter finish. Thin bodied with high carbonation. I like my Oktoberfest beers to be liquid bread, this falls a little short. Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 13, 2005 We got clear amber in the glass, and a hefty, rocky chunk of froth atop, slowly disseminating.
In the nose, ....well, rather paltry. Bare glimmers of caramel and fruit, malt is there, as it should, but tiptoes through. Slightly sweet, ...almost unnoticeable.
Taste: Hops drizzle, then fade. Malt grows in confidence, but is rather unblustery, very lean in it’s performance. Medium body, and light in character, as well.
Rolls off the tongue, then disappears. Nothing much in the finish, faint and forgettable.
Nuttin’ wrong with it, just a bit too meager for me. Decent, for a cheap brand Oktoberfest. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
