The aroma was apples, clove, citrus, and a little artificial banana. The flavor was very sweet with the same banana-apple spice blended with a light bitter edge. The body was very rich. Left a fruity bittersweet finish. Good, but not great.

Pours a light golden color, slightly hazy, with a foamy white head. Aroma is light spice and faint citrus, lemon, perhaps. Light in body with high carbonation. Quite active in the mouth. Flavor is light Belgian yeast, a hint of citrus, a mild hop presence and a hint of butterscotch. I didn’t pay for this one, but I hope it wasn’t to much. after4ever (2828), Brier, Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 24, 2009 750, corked and baled. Pours a murky medium toffeeish amber with a dense and creamy off-white head that falls fairly quickly away. Mildly vinous nose, almost a bit lemony. Creamy medium body with plenty of lively carb. Doesn’t show actual lemon or butter notes, but seems to throw a bit of butterscotch--and the centerpiece of the mid-palate is definitely a big lemony, buttery chardonnay note. Is this oak? Chardonnay oak? Hard to say--but, oddly, without being actually lemony or buttery in flavor, it calls to mind a chardonnay with that profile. Mildly vinous finish. Very pleasant and drinkable, and, at a lower price point, would even bear plenty of repeat visits, but it’s not quite special enough to justify $13 a shot. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Hazy golden pour into my White Birch glass with a full pillowy white head. Aroma is yeasty, spicey, some lemon zest, some coriander. The head refuses to dissipate. As it slowly falls, more bready, yeasty, citrus aromas are unlocked. Flavor is sweet coriander and lemon citrus. Spicey yeast and some candi sugar sweetness. A flutter of booze at the finish is the only evidence of the 7.5% abv. warming, sweet sticky aftertaste. michael-pollack (2739), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA

Yeast and slight spice finish is lightly bitter and dry. 7.5%ABV is totally hidden. bbbrew (183), Washington DC, USA

I tried this beer on November 5, 2009 at "Smokeless Joe’s" in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The beer poured a dark translucent goal with a huge generous off-white head that lasted throughout the experience. The aroma was very yeasty with malt, and spices also in the mix. The mouthfeel was medium-bodied and medium-high carbonation. The flavour was very Duvel-like with a crisp malty flavour with yeast and a citrusy bitter finish. A good beer. Vaiz (157), Netherlands

Bittersweet taste, a little dry and above average carbonation. Pretty decent overall but not very special. Taverner (880), San Ramon, California, USA
