The flavour has a light sweetness, light notes of fresh hay, flower and a citrussy bitterness. ekstedt (1731), Göteborg, Sweden Jun 10, 2008 Bottle (50 cl) at Sophien Eck, Berlin, Germany. Clear pale golden with medium white head. Fresh hayish malt aroma with herbal hops. A bit too sweet. Good mouthfeel. DruncanVeasey (1533), Burbage, Germany Jun 7, 2008 Updated: Jun 10, 2008Bottled. Pale and yellowy with a slick of white suds. Spicy herbal hop aroma, sweet with grassy hops, biscuity malt, peanut butter. Slightly earthy, grassy, piney, biscuity lager. Almost cornflakey soft cereally afters. Technically excellent, just a little bit dull. acrdz (4129), Pennsylvania, USA Jun 7, 2008 Draft 1/2 L at Augustiner in Munich. Clear gold colored body with a white fluffy head. Wet, sharp, astringent malt bite throughout, soda-like carbonation, seems like Bug Light sort of stuff, with harsh carbonation and slightly skunky flavor... some sour lemon and grains tasted, very simple overall and for a helles is lacks the all-important full body and smoothness. Kind of a terrible experience drinking this first helles in Munich proper.
