BitchesBrew (698), Manchester, New Hampshire, USA May 14, 2008 [draught at the Augustiner Beerhall] Very hazy, orange color. Pours with the usual, typically-dense white foam. Aroma is lots of clove and banana, with a strong spice character. Flavors are tart wheat, more banana and clove. Very phenolic. Finishes fruity and slightly citric. Very good.

Bottle brown, 500 ml
Appearance: Pours shiny metallic, yellowy - orange to carrot like, cloudy and well carbonated body, head is yellowish, butter like - creamy, initially extremely huge and pillowy - frothy in texture, slowly decreasing to medium, there is a decent lacing. Unfortunately after few minutes beer drastically decarbonates in body texture. Body colour is a bit darker than many weizens.
Aroma: Clove, butter, wheat, butterscotch, banana, milk, barley grains at the background, juicy, little hints of an orange peal, well pronounced, intensive and well balanced aroma in the overall impression, vanilla, wallnut.
Flavour: Fermented or slightly rotten herbs but in a positive way, banana, clove, accidity and slight saltyness on palate, soils and daugh, boiled carrot, juicy, notes of orange peal, very smooth on palate, mild, later on in the aftertaste grains of wheat and barley are becominge present with minerality and yeasty nose. Impression of being nutricious. Finish duration is medium to long.
Palate: Body is medium, texture is smooth, milky, carbonation on palate is soft to medium, finish feel is accidic and mineral with notes of yeast.
SHIG (1484), Oberoffligen, Germany Aug 16, 2008 Bottle: Poured a murky yellow to orange with a huge off white color head. Aroma is yeasty with bananas. Taste is slight bitter yeast finishes with a banana and cloves. Leighton (19), Salisbury, Connecticut, USA Apr 28, 2008 Delicious. I had this beer on my first night in Berlin. Although I was drinking alone (during this wanderlust I’m travelling solo), the Augustiner more than made up for it. A tasty weissbier with a cloudy, golden color. Taste is smooth - and stays that way from the first sip to the last - with a hint of caramel. dj (369), Gloucestershire, England Apr 25, 2008 Bottle, 500ml. A cloudy golden colour with a good head. Aroma is orange and yeast with some sweetness. Taste has wheat with a good orangey citrus bite. Some yeast evident too with a hint of caramel and maybe malt. Moderate carbonation. A perfectly respectable hefeweizen.
