Pleasant maltiness, Sweet on the nose. Slightly soapy, missing the expected bitterness that I was looking for. MarkBarnes (266), Waterville, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 5, 2007 July 5, 2007; 12 oz. bottle. A fine ESB. Cloudy in appearance. Full-bodied & flavorful for the style. Not in the same league as Fullers, but a very good effort from a way-better-than-average brewery. The $9.99 price tag (before deposit) on a six-pack of this (@ Kraig’s Kegs, Sherrill, NY) was rather repulsive, though, as the beer is not THAT good. jfm (1695), Holbæk, Denmark

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 1, 2007 [bottle] Orange colour with a slight haze. Dense head leaving a fine lace work. Fruity apricot aroma with notes of toffee. Lots of hops in the flavour with some notes of toffee and raisins. A bit thin and unbalanced though. RagallachMC (631), Cleveland, Ohio, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jun 20, 2007 12oz bottle. Aroma: Light biscuity malt, sulfur, floral/herbal hops, a touch of green apple. Appearance: Light orange in color and slightly hazed. Off-white head was medium and foamy with decent retention. Fair lacing. Flavor: Biscuity and light grainy maltiness, strong sulfury note, Nice floral/herbal hoppiness with a bit of earthiness. Medium-low bitternees and a medium-dry finish. Palate: Medium-light bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: Not terrible, but not good either. I like some sulfur/mineral tones in an ESB, but this one was over the top with sulfur. JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 18, 2007 Updated: Jun 19, 2007Pours a mildly cloudy amber with a thin island of foam in the middle. Caramel and biscuit malts on the nose, along with a mild pleasant hop aroma. Refreshing taste, a mild hop presence in the background, but taste is mostly a light toasty bread flavor with a mild hop finish. Not among my favorite bitters, but still a quality drinkable one. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jun 17, 2007 Bottle pours glolden and frothy, excellent lacing. The aroma is sweet and slightly fruity. The flavor is sweet and sour with a hint of grapefriut. It finishes slightly bitter and a little sour. Was my bottle spoiled? modalnails (43), boulder, Colorado, USA
