Commercial Description:
Named for the 54 Colorado peaks which tower over 14,000 feet in elevation, our session beer is a spectacular copper hued beauty. The treatment of our water to simulate English hard water and the blending of several specialty malts and hops produce a delicate balance between aromatic maltiness and herbal hops.
OG: 1.048

Fresh floral nose that hints at spicy and piney hops. Pours a sparkling orange. The huge stiff rocky head is fully lasting with gobs of lace. This is a perfect spring offering; who am I kidding this style is perfect year round. It’s been way too long since I’ve had a good ESB. Well balanced with moderate acidity. Nice front with a nice bitter follow through. The medium body is soft to lively and dry.

12 ounce bottle into a pint glass, light amber with a thin head. Mainly grassy hops in the aroma. There was a big burst of hops in the taste with a bitter finish. A bit watery. Ehhh.

It definitely has the ESB qualities many US renditions lack with appropriate bitterness and the fuzz quotient. The bitterness, however, seems a bit one dimensional with its citrus-laden hoppy spike. Balance is here though so it should appeal to the ESB crowd. Maybe its a bit too coppery for me.

The 12 ounce bottle poured a slightly hazy pale amber beverage with a modest white creamy head that was mostly lasting and left great lacing on the glass. The aroma was very nice with aromatic hop notes of grapefruit malt notes of roasted grain and nuts and a yeast component of well worn leather. The body was medium with a soft carbonation and a smooth, creamy texture. The flavor starts out lightly sweet but quickly takes on a more aggressive bitterness that lasts through the medium-long finish. The finish is clean and crisp with a hint of alcohol warmth.

The color was a dark golden/orange. The head was creamy, thin, and off white. The aroma was citrisy, yeasty, and light floral. The flavor was was stronger than the aroma led on. It was bitter, dry, hoppy, and citrisy. The palate was thin/med bodied. The finish was bitter.

Bottle. Golden copper with a thin film of bubbles. Great light hoppy taste with just a little bit of bitter. Floral flavor notes on top of light malt. Very nice.
