Commercial Description:
Named for the 54 Colorado peaks which tower over 14,000 feet in elevation, our session beer is a spectacular copper hued beauty. The treatment of our water to simulate English hard water and the blending of several specialty malts and hops produce a delicate balance between aromatic maltiness and herbal hops.
OG: 1.048

Bottle. Pours an orange-amber body with a large, frothy white head. The aroma is moderately piney with a fair amount of bread and caramel. Rich, yeasty sweet hops. Lots of bread and biscuit balance. Excellent session. Avery’s normal offerings can be quite good, it seems. Purchased at Bello Vino in Ann Arbor in April, 2006.

An average ESB produced by Avery. Good balance with hops and malts, a bit peppery. flavored with light citrus and barley. Pours a decent amber but lacking in head and lacing. Balance is good like I said but a lack of depth keeps this one from being a high end ESB.

Amber coloured, thick head with great lacing. Aroma is malty and hoppy with notes of grapefruit. Flavour is malty and bitter with a little watery mouthfeel. Hops in finish as well. Some notes of pine.

This has to be one of my favorite ESB’s . I know its not quite to style, but I like the little more hop flavor and aroma this beer has. It gives it a better balanced flavor. It makes it the nice English version of the American Pale Ale. It doesn’t have quite the hoppiness the American version has, but more than a typical ESB.

Golden to copper color with thin white head. Mild aroma of bitter hops (grapefruit maybe) and a little bit of malt. Nice combo of sweet malt and hop flavor with a splash of hop bitterness that lingers around the tongue then sits on it right to the finish. Nice meld of flavors, delicious, refreshing summertime brew.

bottle. clear amber pour. efferevecent. nice tiny bubble off white head. Great aroma. grapefruit, hops. great malts. slight floral aroma. Very smooth. nice hops. bitter bite. earth and grass. a nice esb. I don’t think this beer is worthy of so many of the poor ratings. This is a go to at the cooler.

(Bottled) Clear amber color with a small, foamy head. Nutty-fruity, British-hoppy aroma with some caramel. Sweetish-caramely, slightly roasty flavor with a somewhat odd turpentine feel. Medium-bodied, slicky and moderately bitter palate with medium carbonation. A quite different, but nice ESB.
