Aroma picked up fresh grapefruit, sweet caramel, and some herbal/floral hops. Hoppy and very bitter on the palate... I really think this is mis-classed. A whole lotta hops in the flavor... grapefruit, wet grass, dried flowers, and herbs. Dry caramel base was well-placed. I’m rating this as an E.S.B., and I thought it was really well-done. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 15, 2005 Bottle. Pours hazy dark orange/amber, nice head and many bubbles. Quite hoppy in an earthy, fruity and mild spiced way. Also a sweet pale tea and doughy/biscuit quality to the aroma. The flavor is tangy hops, pale malts, some metallic notes, with somewhat of a flat finish. Finishes dry with a acidic lingering hop bitterness. So-So. GeoDoc (34), San Antonio, Texas, USA

Well, AVery once again delievers a solid brew, though nothing surprising. I hope to get that with some new ones I plan to buy. This is overall caramel hops and straw hints. basic with a slightly above average bitter. not too bad. good for a session. GeneralGao (3073), Iowa City, Iowa, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 13, 2005 I have no idea why this is coded an apa...IT SAYS ON THE BOTTLE: ESB! It is an "Extra Special Bitter"! A decent one at that, though a bit metallic for my taste. For the price, the best ESB I have had lately is the Bridgeport ESB. JK (2967), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 7, 2005 This beer has the look, aroma, and flavor of a bitter. There are hardly any hops at all. Some bread, a little sour in the finish. Hops are barely there at all, so I have no idea why this is being called an apa. ratman197 (3266), Arvada, Colorado, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 29, 2005 Bottle poured a clear amber with an off white head. Aroma was light carmel, a bit of citrus and an unknown aroma somewhere between grapes and cat piss. Palate is crisp. Flavors of bread, light citrus, and a hint of apples. A decent session beer but I prefer more hops please.
