Lots of grapefruit on nose, caramel (barely), quite floral, some cat pee. Flavor doesn’t back up hops from aroma and this is mostly bitter. Rather thin bodied and straight forward beer...sweet, then herbal/floral (brief), then quick dry hoppy bitter finish. Not much mineral. Braudog (3762), Dayton, Ohio, USA

Subtle aroma of grain, citrus. Average carbonation. Crisp feel with a medium to thin body. Nice balance. bkelley68 (467), Lakewood, Ohio, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 29, 2005 Copper color with a foamy white head. Snappy, flowery hops in the aroma with underlying malt that has
notes of toast, biscuit, and carmel. Nice balance. Lively carbonation. Full of toasty, chewy malts and
balanced out with assertively bitter, flowery, somewhat herbal hops that have a slight tea leaf flavor.
Toasted malts echo with flowery hop bitterness. Quite pleasing. brentfeesh (1038), Gadsden, Alabama, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 18, 2005 Pours hazy amber, not bad looking. The aroma had minerals and sweet caramel malt. To my surprise, the flavor was just like the aroma. Sweet malt and caramel, as well as pine hops are present in the flavor (though the hops are secondary). I also noted a mineral/metallic taste. Nothing too special here. I bet it’s better at the brewery, but it is drinkable in this format. SDbruboy (1832), San Diego, California, USA

Pours clear, reddish amber with a small off-white head. Aroma is dominated by the rich carmel malts along with fresh and crisp citrus and floral hops. Flavor is pleasant with the aforementioned mallts and hops in nice balance and a little earthiness in the mid notes. Light to medium body and gentle carbonation. A good session ale. Bitter and malty, after taste is quite bitter

Aroma is a nice balance of malt and hops with some yeast in there. Appearance is a reddish golden color that is too light for an ESB. Palate is average and the aftertaste has a lingering bitterness. Certainly nothing wrong here I think it just misses the ESB mark a little.
