Bitter and malty, after taste is quite bitter

Aroma is a nice balance of malt and hops with some yeast in there. Appearance is a reddish golden color that is too light for an ESB. Palate is average and the aftertaste has a lingering bitterness. Certainly nothing wrong here I think it just misses the ESB mark a little. AlchemistZ (493), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 29, 2005 Very rich bronze color with a white head. Very strong earthy/orangey aroma. Some nice goldings character blended with esters and light caramel malts. Delightfully bitter, biscuity malt in the background. Body is med/light. Finish is malt dry and bitter. Hop flavor is very earthy with an orange-like underpinning. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 28, 2005 Nice golden pour, soapy off-white head. Aroma is sweet with sugary malt, hop candy elixir, and a touch of Johnson & Johnson’s Baby Shampoo. Taste is about the same, but not as full as the aroma. Its quite like an APA or IPA... flowery sweet hops mainly. After a while, I lost the aroma a bit... not sure what happened. But overall, very good.

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jun 25, 2005 Nice all around sipping beer. Watery-copper color. Mildly sweet with a decent hop profile in the aroma. Nice tasting beer with a good range of flavors...someone said tea and I am glad they did cause I couldn’t have verbalized it without them...there is tea and maybe a bit of biscuity malt in the end just before the hops come in strong. I’d have to say this is a very solid beer. Metalhead (572), Lake Zurich, Illinois, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 14, 2005 Poured orangey tea color. Mild head.Flavor is subdued semi sweet malts/hops mix and I could swear there was a big splash of ice tea in this. Perhaps because this bottle was around a year old it lost is zing. Still not too shabby. Tmoney99 (4779), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA
