Commercial Description:
Named for the 54 Colorado peaks which tower over 14,000 feet in elevation, our session beer is a spectacular copper hued beauty. The treatment of our water to simulate English hard water and the blending of several specialty malts and hops produce a delicate balance between aromatic maltiness and herbal hops.

Not enough smell. Not good enough looking. Not flavorful enough. This is a huge disappointment from Avery.

Amber with a medium off-white head of the slowly fading lace-leaving variety. Aroma of caramel, light fruit and earthy hops with some dough and pale malts mixed in. Taste of earthy and grassy hops, fruit, bread with mild bitterness on the back end. The earthy hops leave behind a bit of mustiness and some more of the fruit comes through as it warms.

12 oz bottle...amber with a slight off-white head. Aroma of caramel malts, fruity hops. The flavor was was a great blend of the two aromas. Also, it was a tad citrusy. Medium palate, with slight carbonation...bitterness up front yields to the sweet caramel malts. Very solid bitter...

12 oz bottle. This had a very homebrewish quality to it. Poured a clear amber color with a thin off white head. The aroma was sweet tea, caramel and lemon. This smelled exactly like Mickey D’s Sweet Tea. The flavor was caramel with a good bitter finish. The palate was average, with lower carbonation than I would have liked, a medium body and a crisp mouthfeel. I didn’t care for this one so much.

Bottle. Pours a golden amber body with a white 1 finger head. Light floral hop notes, dusty resins, grapefruit, tea and pine. Bitter earthiness with light caramel malt in the background. Simple, sessionable.

12 oz bottle. Pours a light golden, hazy, thin layer of foam. Aroma is light hops. Malty start with some overly bitter hops... not just overly hopped, just an odd bitterness in the flavor, and a strange metallic tang on the end of the tongue as i drink it. Second and third sips the tang is gone but its just not that great, a bit watery.

bottle. rating #500 for Avery 14er ESB! pours a deep golden with a bit of white head. pleasant deep hop aroma with some underlying malt. nice palate - light and spicy bitterness up front, with medium sides that carry the malts. solid bitter finish that sticks with you a bit. overall a very nice ESB.
