blipp (724), Grand Island, New York, USA Jan 26, 2008 Bottle. Pours cloudy amber with a beige. Sweet and hoppy nose with notes of caramel and blackberry. Medium body. Flavor is the same as the aroma. This beer did very little to impress me. It wasn’t bad though.
TeamTrappist (153), jericho, New York, USA Sep 5, 2008 Tap at The Sunswick. Poured a medium amber with a light white head. The nose was hoppy and slightly sour. Mouthful was creamy with a decent hop flavor and balanced malts. Malts dominated the finish. fakepurseninja (490), Sammamish, Washington, USA Sep 5, 2008 If you are going to make beer - why bother settling for mediocre, ho-hum, nothing going on bland crappers like this one? Why bother? Donate the grain to starving Africans? Use the hops to ornamental ground coverage. Plain does not begin to describe this drink. Apart from a stellar appearance - it is like vanilla ice cream minus the vanilla flavoring. Just dull. Maybe a little buttery and sour, very little malt flavor. Virtually no hop presence. Not bad. Not good. Just Nice bottle art. Cappadonna (102), Delray Beach, Florida, USA Sep 3, 2008 Pours hazy gold/copper with minimal carbonation. The aroma is an inviting honey smell- the malts come through too. The beer has a sweet, mellow taste to it and is much hoppier than most ESBs. Finishes mildly bitter. Very drinkable and enjoyable. A different ESB. dkachur (779), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA Sep 1, 2008 12 oz. bottle from Wine Warehouse. Medium amber color with almost no head, Fruity grain aroma. Grainy taste with a very bitter hop finish. Sticky feel. Not a favorite.
The_Jester (493), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Aug 29, 2008 355 mL bottle. Copper-brown with a nice "rocky" head. The aroma definitely makes this an American ESB, with nothing but floral/citrus hops. The flavour is nice, with the floral hops and sweetish caramel malt. No bitterness ’til the end. Crisp. Very drinkable.
