Commercial Description:
We the Brewers of Avery Brewing Company, in order to form a more perfect ale, require a new leadership that can liberate us from our quagmires in foreign lands; embrace environmentally sound energy alternatives to imported oil; heal our ailing health care system; free us from tyrannical debt and resurrect the collapsing dollar. We hereby pledge to provide him or her with an ample amount of our Presidential Pale Ale to support in the struggle for the aforementioned goals! Hail to the New Chief!

Not an "Imperial" pale ale, this is a democracy. It's Presidential! Take the all-American pale ale, a bipartisan blend of malt and hops, increase to both Avery Brewing standards, and then, of course, dry hop the result with that most quintessential of American hops, Cascades, and you get this... Ale to the Chief. A brew worthy of the Oval Office! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, hops and yeast.

Nice full off white head that leaves good lacing atop an amber colored beer. Grassy hop aroma. Flavor of hops that melds with malty undertones. Good combination. Some carbonation and a nice bitter finish.

This American Strong Ale would be low rated if it were an IPA, that being said, for an Imperial Pale it is good. But in the grand scheme of things it is just a highly malted average IPA. Hence, it has a style percentage miles lower than its overall. $16 per 24 oz bottle at Abraxas in Miami Beach

An Avery very hoppy beer. C-hop aroma. Initially, very grapefruit and then as the taste buds numb, there is less hop intensity felt, its more like a pale ale. Average mouthfeel. Less than average grapefruit colour with some white head.

Clear light orange pour topped by a lasting creamy white foam. Bright and perfumey nose of tropical fruits - mango, honeymelon and juicy citrus. Spicy, woodsy nuances hint furthermore at hops, but in mouths, it’s bigger than I’d expected with a hefty dose of alcohol involved. Malt profile is almost chewy, though not syrupy, quite sweet. Soapy, spicey, citrusy hops component, growing into a serious bitterness, but the sweetness was intense enough to deserve such treatment. I would not write home about it, but certainly perfered it to most other Avery novelties I’ve had in the last couple of years.

On tap at Capital Ale House - Downtown on 01/24/2009. Clear copper amber body with a medium frothy off-white head and some sticky lacing. Big hoppy floral and citrus aroma with some caramel. Sweet caramel flavor with some floral and citrus hops. Medium full body with moderate carbonation.

Nice and hoppy and balanced other than the hop attack. A huge hop citrus / grapefruit flavor rolls over everything. Super Yummy

beautiful amber color with decnt white head, good bubbles too. aroma is upfront spicy hops and some sweet malt. some definite piny spicy hops dominate up front with good balance of sweetness and theb the hops hit again on the finish. nice beer, hate the premise behind it.

In celebration of our new presidents first major speech, unfortunately this isn’t quite as good as the speech. While tasty and pretty, the aroma is nearly nonexistant.
