Commercial Description:
We the Brewers of Avery Brewing Company, in order to form a more perfect ale, require a new leadership that can liberate us from our quagmires in foreign lands; embrace environmentally sound energy alternatives to imported oil; heal our ailing health care system; free us from tyrannical debt and resurrect the collapsing dollar. We hereby pledge to provide him or her with an ample amount of our Presidential Pale Ale to support in the struggle for the aforementioned goals! Hail to the New Chief!

Not an "Imperial" pale ale, this is a democracy. It's Presidential! Take the all-American pale ale, a bipartisan blend of malt and hops, increase to both Avery Brewing standards, and then, of course, dry hop the result with that most quintessential of American hops, Cascades, and you get this... Ale to the Chief. A brew worthy of the Oval Office! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, hops and yeast.

Bottle. Body-dark amber with a lasting quarter inch foamy head. Nose-surprisingly hoppy, PNW, melon, grapefruit. Taste-medium to high syrup sweet, apple juice, overly sweet, light husky, honey, corn syrup, medium CO2, overall sweet corn and muted PNW hops.

On tap a IBG (Lutz, FL). Pours a hazy amber color with a thick beige head. Lots of lacing along the glass. Great citrus hop aroma. Excellent flavor of citrus/pine hops with a malty backbone. This one was delicious and I never would have guessed the 8.7% alcohol, it was very well hidden.

out of the 22 oz bottle, the hazy amber beer has a mostly white head. heavily malty and hoppy, slightly boozy and overall a thick-smelling beer. northwest hops prevalent (cascade and centennial) but not inordinately bitter; pale, caramel malts are everywhere. definition of a big beer - and a fun beer in the context of the recent election.

Pours orange with a thick white head and some nice lacing. Aroma of malts and some citrus hops. Taste of some spicy hops, some citrus hops, and a real nice caramel malt backbone. The alcohol was barely noticeable at all.

Bomber obtained from Kenny Road Market, Columbus, Ohio. Enjoyed 1/20/09 with anticipated hope for the beer and the presidency. Hazy hue to this golden amber ale. Hoppy but not overpowering, with a certain citrus/pine sweetness. Pleasant nose and with some lacing. Well balanced with a medium body. A nice way to enjoy the end to a hectic day.

Tasted 1/20/09. 22oz bomber. Hazy with a golden brown hue. Moldy, spotty off-white head. Bright citrus nose. Fresh grassy hop dominant nose. Medium to full bodied and sweet. More so sweet hops than bitter hops. Citrus candy flavors. Good, but less than I was expecting.

Draft. An orangey amber. Pretty hopped, not sure why they won’t admit this is an IPA

On tap at City Beer Store in SF. Orangish amber color with white head. Aroma and flavor of sweet caramel malt and piney, floral west coast hops. Some light fruit and spice notes. Enjoyable, more IPA-like than anything else if I had to classify it.
