Commercial Description:
We the Brewers of Avery Brewing Company, in order to form a more perfect ale, require a new leadership that can liberate us from our quagmires in foreign lands; embrace environmentally sound energy alternatives to imported oil; heal our ailing health care system; free us from tyrannical debt and resurrect the collapsing dollar. We hereby pledge to provide him or her with an ample amount of our Presidential Pale Ale to support in the struggle for the aforementioned goals! Hail to the New Chief!

Not an "Imperial" pale ale, this is a democracy. It's Presidential! Take the all-American pale ale, a bipartisan blend of malt and hops, increase to both Avery Brewing standards, and then, of course, dry hop the result with that most quintessential of American hops, Cascades, and you get this... Ale to the Chief. A brew worthy of the Oval Office! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, hops and yeast.

BOLD AND BRIGHT, dark brown with a golden hue this brew is sweet and bursting with tropical fruit. beige brown head that is thick and creamy this brew is floral and has an abundent straw profile to balance an assertive hop bite. sweet and candylike it is slippery and almost gooey like pineapple taffy. so mild in spice it creates really good balance. straw then touch of extra hop in finish. highly innovative.

22 oz. bottle on 10/15/2008. Big, foamy white head tops a faintly hazy amber pour, leaving rings of thick, adherent lace. Aroma is piney up front with toffee and spice, and hints of alcohol. Solid, sweet, caramel malt backbone provides excellent support for the long hoppy finish. Medium/full body, light carbonation, creamy and somewhat thick on the palate, resinous, and dry. This is bold, assertive, and was a very pleasant surprise. An excellent offering from Avery.

Had this back to back with New Holland Existential Hopwine. This seems to be what NHEH was trying to achieve, but failed. Full of effervescent goodness, hoppy flavor of the piney-juniper kind and a solid malt backbone. I will grab one to share with wifey when President Obama takes the stand and delivers us from evil. Pours amber with white head, has an insanely bitter, piney component that sticks around. Good beer!

Draught at the brewery. Cloudy amber coloured with a medium sized white head. Fruity aroma of hops, pine needles and peaches. Fruity flavour of hops, pine needles, grass and peaches. Dry hoppy finish.

Fruity and floral aroma. Cherries, sweet citrus, hops, and caramel. I also get some sour apple and wine grapes. It pours beautifully. Dark orange, completely transparent, glorious carbonation with a full sized frothy head. Very spicy flavor, cinnamon and cardamon. Bay leaves with coriander. Candy syrup, berries and hops. The palate is thick a little sharp. But well balanced. Lovely.

Orange colored and pours with a very thin off-white head. A spot of lacing here and there but not much. The aroma is nice and hoppy, a lot of pine, some citrus and caramel malt. The flavor pretty much follows suit, although the hops are mostly resiny with some citrus and a little pine. This is nicely hopped but also has a strong malty backbone too. Finishes slightly dry and bitter. This does drink lighter than I was expecting. A very good beer but probably not a great one.

Bomber. Poured translucent coppery-orange with a moderate cap of white head (at least initially.. looked really nice). The aroma picked pineapple and floral spicage upfront with a bit of syrupy light fruits and caramel sweetness beneath.. strong but engaging. The flavor opened with resiny pine bitterness on the tip of the tongue.. alcohol-infused caramel and grapefruit meat sweetness on the middle with raw, greener pineapple and floral bitterness around.. finished warm and bitter with some added peppery spices (could’ve been attached to the alcohol). Medium-plus bodied with a syrupy feel on the palate.. felt a tad stronger than it should have.. decent overall.
