Commercial Description:
We the Brewers of Avery Brewing Company, in order to form a more perfect ale, require a new leadership that can liberate us from our quagmires in foreign lands; embrace environmentally sound energy alternatives to imported oil; heal our ailing health care system; free us from tyrannical debt and resurrect the collapsing dollar. We hereby pledge to provide him or her with an ample amount of our Presidential Pale Ale to support in the struggle for the aforementioned goals! Hail to the New Chief!

Not an "Imperial" pale ale, this is a democracy. It's Presidential! Take the all-American pale ale, a bipartisan blend of malt and hops, increase to both Avery Brewing standards, and then, of course, dry hop the result with that most quintessential of American hops, Cascades, and you get this... Ale to the Chief. A brew worthy of the Oval Office! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, hops and yeast.

22 oz bottle purchased at Zipps in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Pour is hazed orange auburn with a nice thick 1 1/2 inch head. Thick, sticky lacing left behind as head slowly falls. Pretty in the glass. Aroma of big, fresh, wet resinous pine hops. Behind that is some softer, sweeter citrus hoppiness. The taste is also big, resin pine and sharply sweet citrus. Mostly about the hops, though there is a touch of grainy toasted maltiness in a thinner backbone. Finish is a bit oily with crisp bitterness. There is a long, hop leaf aftertaste. Nice, fresh tasting brew.

bomber. I really like this one.... solid beer from Avery... not sure really how to classify this one - a IIPA? I think that’s what it would be.... it really reminds me of Bells Hopslam... it pours a deep golden/orange color with a solid white head. solid citrus hoppy aromas... nice full body with some citrus fruit up front and soft on the sides. Pineapple comes through the most for me, along with some orange and grapefruit. Nice bitter finish - not really strong like your typical IIPA, but very well balanced. I wish Avery would produce this one year round.... glad I got 2 bottles.

On draft @ Town Hall (guest beer). Light amber in colour with medium carbonation. Huge US C-hop aromas with notes of grapefruit, orange, and sweet grasses. Moderate malt presence in the mouth, with a bit of caramel, but the hops are really what’s on show here... more big citrus and pine sap. Solid IIPA level bitterness. Yummy!

Golden-amber colour and a bubbly head. Explosive piney, citrusy nose with cantaloupe and orange peel. Bright orange taste with a hint of kiwi, florals and grapefruit. There’s a bit of sweetness, but not cloying (maybe a little crystal?). Finishes with more refreshing hops and a slightly sticky malt underpinning.

Beautiful looking beer - deep golden almost orange color with a full, creamy head. Mild hoppy aroma. Taste starts out crisp with mild citrus and finishes with strong, but not overwhelming hops. Medium bodied feel in your mouth. Overall a very drinkable beer.

Beautiful glowing orange pourwith a thin but lasting white/beige head. The aroma is all citrus, grapefruit and orange. Mouthfeel is thick and resinous. Syrupy sweetness with more citrus hops. Full-bodied. Citrus, hop bomb with the body to back it up. Pretty darn good.

2008-10-02. Crisp orange body with a modest beige head. (3+) Big hoppy aroma, resin over citrus, well rounded. (8+) Fairly bitter flavour threatens to be astringent in the finish, citrus is a bit over shadowed by the bitter resin and alcohol. Smooth medium bodied palate just a bit shy of full bodied. Really nice, dangerously drinkable, which is not something often said of Avery’s stronger stuff!Bottle from Brown Jug, Anchorage
