Commercial Description:
We the Brewers of Avery Brewing Company, in order to form a more perfect ale, require a new leadership that can liberate us from our quagmires in foreign lands; embrace environmentally sound energy alternatives to imported oil; heal our ailing health care system; free us from tyrannical debt and resurrect the collapsing dollar. We hereby pledge to provide him or her with an ample amount of our Presidential Pale Ale to support in the struggle for the aforementioned goals! Hail to the New Chief!

Not an "Imperial" pale ale, this is a democracy. It's Presidential! Take the all-American pale ale, a bipartisan blend of malt and hops, increase to both Avery Brewing standards, and then, of course, dry hop the result with that most quintessential of American hops, Cascades, and you get this... Ale to the Chief. A brew worthy of the Oval Office! Brewed with Rocky Mountain water, malted barley, hops and yeast.

bottle thanks to swalden 28. poured a deep gold with an off-white head. aroma was very close to an IPA with ruby red grapefruit and some floral notes. flavor was sweet, grassy, and some hops. the combination of the ipa smell without the ipa flavor really threw me off.

Pours a medium yellow color, roughly the same hue as Deschutes Mirror Pond Ale. Much lighter than I anticipated. Huge white head and a big whiff of bananas in the aroma along with a bready, yeasty sort of tang. Cloudy with a heavy malt aftertaste along with pine and a big alcohol taste in the back end. Enjoyed on Election Day and patiently waited til now to be able to rate.

Reviewed 11/4/2008 (bottle): Pours a pale yellowish body, with a very clear non-fizzy body. Good sized white head, but diminishing. Hoppy grapefruity aroma. Sweet syrupy smell like fig, plum. Bitter taste, sweetness & maltiness. Strong taste, alcoholy. Waiting for it to warm up...Strong grapefruitiness. Dry aftertaste. Not my thing, too much bitter for me.

On tap at Trappeze. Poured amber wih a white headd. Aroma is very malted with some citrus hops as well. Taste is a little more hoppy, with plenty of caramel backing. Finish is bitter. Solid hoppy effort, pretty good balance.

22oz bottle. Good looking amber brew with a white head. Full malty aroma loaded with sweetness and fruit (oranges). Very inviting. The flavor is just what the aroma suggests. Full malt with a light caramel sweetness. Plenty of hops run through this one and I noted Pine, orange, and earthy notes all throughout. Well integrated flavors and very enjoyable. Medium-full bodied. I’ll take more of this any time.
