Sampled at ’08 BSAF. Beer is cloudy, light/medium-hued oxidized caramel. Head is off-white, frothy, large and mostly lasting.

The aroma is malty with light notes of toasted grain, biscuit, trace of cracker; Hoppy with light notes of flowers, moderate note of lemon zest; Yeasty with moderate notes of vinous white wine, balsamic vinegar, horse blanket and barn yard; Miscellaneous notes of light tart apple, trace of pepper.

The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic (juicy), moderate/lightly bitter with a moderately long, lightly acidic, lightly sweet, slightly warm finish.

The body is medium, the texture is watery and the carbonation is light/moderate.

Well done.

Draught, Boulder Strong Ale Fest, Apr 08. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, cookie), lightly hoppy (flowers), moderately yeasty (horseblanket, barnyard), with notes of gum, lemon zest, wood, and band-aid. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Quite a bit of Brett character woven into the other characters, which make this quite enticing to the nose. Very neat experiment!

On tap @ Avery Tasting Room poured a hazy gold with a lingering white head. Aromas of straw, leather, light fruittiness and horseblanket. Palate was light bodied and smooth with a lightly dry tart finish. Flavors of straw, horse blanket, leather and light fruittiness with a smooth lightly tart dry finish.

On tap. Poured a lightly hazy golden-orange color with a moderate fizzy white head that left some lacing. Aroma of barnyard, brett, funk, some citrus, and a hint of wine. Flavor starts out with a nice dry, cobweb flavor with light citrus and funk that leads into a nice tart brett finish with hints of wine grapes and oak. Spritzy and full on the palate. Definitely something I wish Avery would bottle.

Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Average duration, light sweetness, moderate acidity and bitterness.
