2008 GABF week @ Avery. Unfiltered glowing orange body with a white head. Nose definitely has taken on the wine barrel character - green grapes, blueberries, brett... reminds me of Bullfrog Beekeeper a little bit. Flavor is moderately boozy, has some light notes of white wine, but there is an unwelcome band-aid funk from the brett... lightly tannic... overall good but could be better. A poor man’s Beekeeper.

Draught, Boulder Strong Ale Fest, Apr 08. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is hazy medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (toasted grain, cookie), lightly hoppy (flowers), moderately yeasty (horseblanket, barnyard), with notes of gum, lemon zest, wood, and band-aid. Flavor is moderately to heavily sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly to moderately alcoholic. Quite a bit of Brett character woven into the other characters, which make this quite enticing to the nose. Very neat experiment!

Draught. Low white lasting creamy head. Slighly hazy orange body. Mild spicy and hoppy aroma and flavor with low carbonation and a long bitter aftertaste.

Tasted on tap at the Pizza Port Strong Ale Festival 12/5/2008. This Belgian Strong Ale pours a medium orange gold color from the tap. Medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, with a touch of tartness and funk. A medium to full bodied BSA. The malts are fruity and funky, and somewhat tart. The hops are floral. Nice carbonation. Nice beer. The funk and tartness sort of hide behind the fruit sweetness. Smooth taste. Mouthfeel is full. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

Draught at Falling Rock Taphouse. Cloudy yellow - white head. Lots of brett, white sugar, elderflowers, flowery, wood, dryness, crispy, spicy, light hoppy. Very nice - a bit too much sweetness.
