Bottle bought in Seattle or Spokane. Very dark beer with a thiin lasting foamy head. Sour wine, chocolate and malt aroma. Chocolate and ash flavour start. Brett finish. Licorice. Big gassy mouthfeel numbs the tongue and cheeks. Hard to rate. What to compare it to? Is it great or is it stumbling. It is interesting.

Pours a deep mahagony brown with a tan head. Nose of dark fruit, malts, oak as well as the zinfandel. At first sip, I get a combination of zinfandel, malts and tart and sour cherries. Very earthy woody flavor as well. Very complex beer - lots going on at one time. I liked the beer - then didn’t like it - then liked it again. Ulitmately decided I really liked it. It was a rollercoaster of a beer for sure. Very strange, interesting... but in the end - very good.

Bottle at The Ginger Man. A very nice wild ale. Dark chocolate colour, with small Caesar off-white head. Good lace. Some chocolate, a wild ale taste all he way, good bitterness, with a tart finish. While nicely drinkable, had to share out a 330 ml with other patrons as I got it in the first half of the bottle. Would work with food.

12 oz. Dark brownish-red pour with a fine beige head. Barnyardy. Hay, sweet and tart citrus, cherres, wood, alcohol. I’m looking for chocolate something in here, and finding none. Wood is much more apparent in the flavor - tart with cherries and moderate citrus. Tart and almost scummy finish. A little rocky. The brett may need time. Not bad.

Bottle... Murky, dark brown (practically black) ale with a mid-sized, creamy, beige head. Great retention. Musty, lactic, earthy aroma – notations of wood and leather. Medium to full-bodied and lightly creamy with middling carbonation. Sort of chocolaty; mildly tart; moderate bitterness; low sweetness. A touch woodsy and earthy. Finishes a touch acidic, minerally bitter and fairly dry. Bottle courtesy of WeeHeavySD!

Bottle split with maniac. Pours a very dark brown with walnut highlights and ample brown head. Nose of chocolate, dark fruits, and tart black cherry. Flavors of white pepper, bread, more dark fruits , currant, and a decent tartness that does not overpower. White wine notes as well. Very good. And I’m not even a huge sour fan. But way too expensive

Bottle. Pours much darker than I expected. Dark brown to near black and opaque. Small dense foam ring on the surface around the edge of the glass. Aroma instantly hits with funky yeast, sour fruit, wet wood, grape skins, and dark fruit notes. Some wine notes as well. Taste is only slightly sour fruit notes, wine, wet wood, light roasted notes, dark fruits, and funky yeast. Body is light-medium and mildly acidic. Very dry as well. Finish is more tart fruit notes, wood, damp earth, funky yeast, dark fruit and wine notes. Very nice!
