Okay, I was leery of this because of my bad experience with Avery 15. Thankfully, this was much, much better. Poured murky brown with a rocky off-white head and moderate lacing. A pleasantly dank aroma of brett and red wine, maybe some brown sugar and plums in there, too. Smooth mouthfeel, more carbonated than expected, but still nice. Funky and sweet taste. Lots of brett funk, some cheese, but an equal amount of grape juice and tannins. Saw that it was aged in a zinfandel barrels. The fruity wine flavors do come out in the end and give it a tart, dry finish. It was much easier to drink and more pleasant than 15, but it did feel as if it was missing something.

12 oz bottle. Dark brown with a coating beige film. Nose is moldy grapes, wood, cheese and toffee. Very funky but not always in a good way. Medium body with a buzz. Taste is raisin and red wine with a gentle sour finish. Noy very complex but pretty good.

Bottle. Dark brown to blackish with small white head. Aroma is interesting - the Zinfandel is definitely noticeable, along with the brett - notes of fruitiness, wood and leather. Taste is slightly bitter and dry, much like a dry red wine.

Bottle: Deep dark brown with a crimson hue in the light with a dense khaki film. Rich vinous, fruity underlying toasted malt nuances- there’s some notes of blackberries, currants and fig- quite vinous. The wild yeast is there giving off a touch of leather and cherry pit. Some rich barrel character as well with soft vanilla and more toasted oak nuances. Fairly complex in the nose. Substantial body with mild carbonation- creamy feel to it. Spicy tannic flavor. Some tart fruitiness- a touch of vanilla from the barrel with an underlying blackberry note and tart vinousness. Some cherry pit brett notes- the tannins are a bit excessive making it a bit astringent- there’s some vegetal-like woody notes in there accompanied by a toasted barley background. I think time will mellow out the tannins to make this stuff more cohesive and quaffable. Interesting.

12 oz bottle-Deep mahogany pour w/a slight head & great lacing. Huge aroma’s of dark fruit & wine, just overpowering. Very winelike, flavors of dark fruit, red grapes, candied sugar, peat. The wine barrel aging really shows thru here in a positive way. Has a high alcohol kick to it, but it is very smooth. Great after dinner sipper, would be good w/a steak dinner as well. Long, full finish, good stuff!

bottle thanks to thirdeye11. great nose of wood, funk and overly tartness. nice on the palate but compared to the nose this stuff is lacking in quite a few areas. rather bland flavor of wood and alcohol with the tart/sourness very well hidden.

( 12oz bottle) pours medium brown w/ red tint and spare ring of bubbles. Nose of white wine, barrel, tart fruits, and chocolate. Taste is not nearly as good as the nose. Not tart like the nose really. Muscat grapes, barrel, white wine, Off meaty flavors, and light notes of vinegar. Creamy palate and well carbonated.

12oz bottle shared by illidurit. Dark brown with a smallish head. Cleanly sour aroma with lots of lactic acid, vinous, oaky, some caramel and a faint vegetal note. The flavor is mildly chocolatey with some burnt plastic and a background sharp vegetal edge. Thinnish body with medium-low carbonation. Good appearance and aroma, but gets weird in the flavor. Has some similar qualities to their 15th, the only other beer than I have had from them with all brett fermentation, but gets even weirder with the vegetal and plastic notes to the point of being borderline bad.

Pours a bright copper color with a small off-white head. Unsweetened cherry lemonade aroma with a hint of brett phenols manifesting as plasticky notes. Flavor is tannic with a touch of fruit salad and a dark maltiness. Way better than their 100% brett anniversary beer, but so is toilet water. Very funky, very dry, but not complex enough for being wild and strong.
