Commercial Description:
A not-so-traditional American Wheat Ale, Calypso provides an incredibly easy drinking beer with a hoppy kick that's sure to please. On a hot summer day, nothing will cleanse the palate better.

I’m bucking the bad rating trend here: This is a decent unfiltered light amber colored wheat. There are the cheap elements - the perfumed aroma is only bailed out by the hop presence. The flavor leaves the feeling that if they doubled teh ingredients they’d have a solid barleywine. The finish is round and refreshing.

Bright straw color with a a tall white head. Mild fresh hop and fresh mowed grass aroma. Sweet pale malt flavor. Semi-sharp mild white pepper finish. Actually not bad for a American Wheat.

Slightly hazy straw color. Small, creamy white head. Mostly, but not fully diminishing. Decent lacing. Yeasty and citrusy aroma. The flavor is well-balanced. Malty, but not sweet. Bitter, but not tongue poundingly so. Notes of orange blossom honey on the palate. Light-bodied with a mostly watery, but slightly silky mouthfeel. Fizzy carbonation. Crisp, clean finish with lingering notes of straw and butter. Refreshing brew!

More body than expected, more malty than expected, definitely more hop presence than expected. More parrots on the bottle than expected. Fairly non-descript in appearance, but I found nothing else to complain about.

Head is initially average sized, frothy, white, mostly diminishing. Body is hazy light yellow. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (lemon), lightly yeasty (sweat). Flavor is moderately sweet, moderately acidic. Finish is moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Medium body, creamy texture, lively carbonation. The acidity is partly the dull yeasty kind, but overall the balance is good.

Large white head, lasting with some spotty lacing. Clear gold color. Lightly flowery hop nose, some breadyness also. Light body. Light fruity, grainy flavor, citrusy also. Finish is dry. OK merican wheat.

This beer pours an extremely clear yellow color with a medium white head and leaves very little lace on the glass. There was a little wheat in the aroma, but it wasn't very strong. The flavor was a very mild wheat taste, but there was a nice bit of malt and there was also some fruityness in there as well.
