Avery Collaboration Not Litigation

Bottle.Dark amber pour with a small tan head that didnt last long. Aroma is of sweet dates and some sweet fruit. Spicy aroma as well. Pretty good mouthfeel on this one. Nice malty sweetness with a nice warming aftertaste. Very sweet and enjoyable.

22oz. bomber: This one pours a darker orangish/amber color. There was a full tan head on it when first poured, but it drops off to a thin ring rather quickly. The aroma was a bit lighter than I would have expected for a beer of this style. Still, it was good, with notes of caramel, breadiness, yeast and spices. The taste is good. The sweetness is more subdued than I would normally expect with a brew of this type. Caramel and fruit tastes, but they are subdued. Nothing really pops out, just a good blend. A bit of dryness to the finish. Nice.

I enjoyed this on tap at Avery’s tasting room after the Avery "4K on the 4th" run. I didn’t run very well, but I drank well. I had not seen this in stores, but I’m glad they had it on tap. It didn’t have the spiciness of many Belgian strong ales, but it had a nice caramel, toasted maltiness with a currant and dried fruit taste.

Pours a chestnut brown with a thick off-white head. Aroma of yeast, dried fruit, spice. Taste is an interesting concoction of the two types of ale, that produces a pretty decent, albeit vaguely, belgian style. It’s full-bodied, sweat with a slight dryness in the finish. Overall, this is kind of a weird one, I’m not sure I’m convinced.

Cloudy yellowish amber color. Foamy whitish head. Aromas of yeast, bread, sweetness. Flavor is super creamy and yeasty. Hops are present but not much. I enjoyed this one.
