Color is a slightly hazy golden orange with a touch of amber. Carbonation is very good producing a tall thick head that holds on with good lacing as you drink it. Aroma is hoppy with a resin like citric hay scent that only lets a little malt show thorough. Starting with a medium body it goes down crisp with a sticky feel and a bitterness biting at the sides of your tong on the end. Finish is light on the sweet letting the bitterness and hops stand out with a spicy nutmeg, pepper and grapefruit taste jumping out. After taste is dry with a heavy bitterness lingering on with the grapefruit. Overall this is a complex IPA that leans a little on the citrus side for me, but is still a very good and well done brew. As it warms to about 55° the flavors seem to smooth out, I suggest drinking it between 55° and 60° to get the best flavors to come out.

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 25, 2009 Thanks for sharing, bro! Pours a rich caramel color with a large off-white pillowy head which fades rather slowly, leaving a few streaks on the glass. Aroma is resinous hops, caramel malts, and light citrus notes. Taste is rather heavy, strong on the caramel malts and a high spruce-like bitterness. Not too bad, just not easily drinkable and a bit too apparent in bitterness than I generally prefer.
