Commercial Description:
Lupulin Rapture Incarnate! As fervent devotees of hops, we found ourselves on a quest to create a transcendental IPA capable of quenching our voracious lupulin desires. Our mantra became “unity of bitterness, hop flavor and aroma.” Enlightened, duganA IPA was born: A brutally bitter, dank, piney and resinous ale designed for those seeking a divine hop experience.

Poured from a 22oz. bottle into a Snifter at 50°. Color is a slightly hazy golden orange with a touch of amber. Carbonation is very good producing a tall thick head that holds on with good lacing as you drink it. Aroma is hoppy with a resin like citric hay scent that only lets a little malt show thorough. Starting with a medium body it goes down crisp with a sticky feel and a bitterness biting at the sides of your tong on the end. Finish is light on the sweet letting the bitterness and hops stand out with a spicy nutmeg, pepper and grapefruit taste jumping out. After taste is dry with a heavy bitterness lingering on with the grapefruit. Overall this is a complex IPA that leans a little on the citrus side for me, but is still a very good and well done brew. As it warms to about 55° the flavors seem to smooth out, I suggest drinking it between 55° and 60° to get the best flavors to come out.

Bomber courtesy of tytoanderso – thanks Tyler! Pours clear medium amber with a one finger creamy off-white head. The nose is sweet malt, ripe apricot and tangerine. The taste is caramel upfront with ripe citrus and pink grapefruit followed by a bitter pine finish that lingers a bit. Medium semi-creamy mouthfeel. Good IIPA!

Typical IIPA with well-balanced hop overtones and alcohol. Avery once again has made a high-class high-alcohol beer.

Bottle: If you want to know why people say that beer has ’a bite’ try this brew. Potent. Food pairing: drink by itself.

Pours orange with a thin off-white head. Notes of stinky sour citrus, mango, tropical fruits, and thick resins. Full bodied, thick and resinous with moderate carbonation. A great IPA!

Pours a clear amber color with thin off white head. Aroma is of intense pine and hop resin with clean malt aroma. Taste is of intense resinous pine, floral notes and light caramel backbone. Alcohol is well hidden. A very complex, spicy and drinkable beer.

Thanks for sharing, bro! Pours a rich caramel color with a large off-white pillowy head which fades rather slowly, leaving a few streaks on the glass. Aroma is resinous hops, caramel malts, and light citrus notes. Taste is rather heavy, strong on the caramel malts and a high spruce-like bitterness. Not too bad, just not easily drinkable and a bit too apparent in bitterness than I generally prefer.
