Aroma of grapefruit, grassy hops, and orange zest. Flavor of caramel/cookie malt, grassy and garlicky hops. It was ok--just not my style for a IIPA- too sticky and the hop combination wasn’t right for me.

Tremendous nose of sweet, resinous hops! Flavor is almost as good, with a great bitter melding of hops on the tail. Great beer with great label art. Love this beer! | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 3, 2010 Pours a clear orange with white head. A hop bomb, very piney and resiny aroma. Similar taste, very hoppy finish. Lacks the balanced finish of a DIPA. Not the most complete hop beer, very solid though. MmmcKay (309), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 2, 2010 22 oz. bottle from SS 09. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized off white head that maintains a constant film on top. The aroma is moderately sweet crystal malt and persistent citrus and resiny hops. The flavor has a crystal malt base, but is hop forward highlighted by citrus, resin, and light pine. This is medium-full and smooth with a drier finish. Bitterness lingers into the finish which is nice. This is a very solid offering from Avery. AmEricanbrew (2005), Almost, Texas, USA

Smooth mouthfeel. Tongue numbing bitter grapefruit, spicy hop flavors front to back, with a lightly sweet caramel malty base. Lingering bitter finish. Hop overdose.
