Commercial Description:
Lupulin Rapture Incarnate! As fervent devotees of hops, we found ourselves on a quest to create a transcendental IPA capable of quenching our voracious lupulin desires. Our mantra became “unity of bitterness, hop flavor and aroma.” Enlightened, duganA IPA was born: A brutally bitter, dank, piney and resinous ale designed for those seeking a divine hop experience.

Clear gold/copper. Frothy, off white head leaves a nice coat of lacing. Aroma is hugely resinous with grassy, cannabis-like, spicy hops. Subtle malt sweetness. Flavor adds a distinct earthy, peppery element. Makes me wonder what hops were used. Hints of diacetyl on the finish. Just a bit of malt sweetness to balance the hops. Full body, resinous, moderate carbonation. The finish tries to dry out, but doesn’t quite succeed. Not easy to drink, but it’s not a chore either. Kind of like Maharaja Lite. Very good IIPA, but at $7.99/22oz, one is all I’ll buy.

Shared bomber bottle at Lunar Brewing Co. Poured a reddish amber with a decent, white foam to the head, and spots and streaks as lacing. The aroma was mainly a strong, resiny pine nose with a little litter box scent. Grapefruity citrus come forward in the flavor along with the potent, resiny hop bitterness. An enjoyably intense DIPA.

On tap A - deep gold/amber color with a not quite white generous head. great lacing all the way down S - ahh hops. fresh citrus from the dry hopping :) Cascade predominate? T - woo hoo! explosion of fresh hops on the tongue almost sticky with the resin. Good carbonation keeps it going. Nice bitterness. No balance here... all hops all the time M - good I think, too distracted by the hoppy goodness D - again not balanced but a fanastic beer. A new favorite for me. Unfortunately there was a bit of a buzz at the bar and everyone started ordering it. The pin keg blew in the first hour I was there so I only got to have one. Looking forward to trying it in a bottle

Bitter/bready aroma. Deep orange/gold color, thin white head. Smooth with the brunt of the hops up front. Not bad at all but I’ve had better from Avery.

Pours a clear dark orange/amber color with golden orange hues when held to a light source and a two finger frothy light yellowish beige head. Pretty good retention only slowly settling into a lasting cap that leaves streaks of lacing behind. Sweet citrus floral hop aroma with a lot of dank oily hops and a nice caramel malt backbone with hints of graham cracker and biscuit. Slightly piny but is more sweet smelling with hints of mango, grapefruit and orange peel. Chewy resinous medium body that is very hop forward with a nice balance of dry piny bitterness, sweet citrus notes, malt backbone and alcohol warmth. The pine presence is most prominent up front providing a nice dryness that lasts throughout that is nicely balanced by the sweet citrus notes that follow. Hints of mango, orange peel and grapefruit as well as a pretty strong caramel malt backbone with hints of graham cracker and biscuit. Strong alcohol presence comes through mid-palate adding to the sweetness. Pretty dry and hoppy but the malt backbone is a bit too strong for my liking and there is a bit too much of an alcohol presence hurting the drinkability.

Bottle, left at my place by Swoopjones - Mike, I owe you one! Tawny gold body, off-white head w. some nice lacing. Nose is a nice malt backbone, piney hops, woody bitterness, some resin & spicy hop notes. Flavor is piney hops, candied grapefruity, some dankness, really nice malt backbone. Sweet but not as sweet as other offerings from this brewer led me to expect. Mango comes out in the bittersweet finish. Good flavor-wise but could benefit from a bigger aroma.

Presentation: Had on tap at Brews Cafe in Granville, OH. Arrived in a standard Shaker pint. Appearance: Arrives with 1 1/2 finger of light tan head. This settles to a ring around the glass and a few spots of foam here and there. Beer itself is orange amber in color and perfectly clear. Smell: Strong honey aroma with floral hints. Taste: Sweet malt, once again reminiscent of honey. Medium hop bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel: Average carbonation level. Very good body. Drinkability: The strong honey in this one is very nice. A little high in the ABV department to se a session beer, but I would certainly grab one of these if afforded the opportunity.
