Jul 6, 2005 (Bottle 65 cl) Amber coloured beer with a rather small head. Incredibly delicate, fresh, flowery, hoppy nose. Rather sweet caramel malts in the flavour although an extremely dominating aromatic hoppiness quickly takes over. Very complex and tasty beer. 300605

Jul 5, 2005 Semi-cloudy orange glow, a little sediment, and a thin creamy white head. Aroma is pencil erasers, sour grapefruit, sugar Smacks cereal and orange skin. Hits the palate and comes off as more of a barleywine, with the hops having been toned down since its release date and the malts thickening over time. Chewy caramel malts and a musky butterscotch dimension.

Jul 3, 2005 Bottled: Amber coloured. Unclear. Off white huge head. Herbal, sweet, malty and fruity aroma. Is fat in the scents. Herbs, fruit, spice and citurs in the flaovour. Is nicely bitter in the end. Age has taken the top off the hops, but it’s still a very good beer.

Jun 22, 2005 Bottle, bomber: Cloudy orange/amber with a one finger tannish head. Aroma is spicy hops with some caramel malt and yeast in the background. Flavor is mix between sweet hops and spicier hops. Should’ve been opened earlier I think as a lot of the hops seem to have fallen out of this beer. Drying mouthfeel and finish.

Jun 21, 2005 One of my first insanely hoppy beers. Mostly citrus and pine hop on the aroma but not exclusively so. Some caramely malt as well. Initial tastes hammer you with teh idea that yes, this is a big beer. Big hops, big malts, some ester. Fun.

Jun 9, 2005 Hoppy, creamy, doughy aroma. Bright hazy amber with slightly off-white head. Lots of visible carbonation. Wonderful lace. Hoppy, floral and sweet flavor; perfectly balanced. Awesome. Tastes like Mendocino White Hawk IPA but a little stronger. A true treat. Too bad it wont be around long.

May 11, 2005 Brownish/orange in color with an incredibly well-sustained, dense, off-white head. Aroma of American hops, particularly grass, citrus, and pine with a pale caramel malt foundation. The rounded body is filled with soft, caramel-tasting malt surrounded by a grassy, citric hop flavor, a warming alcohol, and a balancing bitterness. Alcoholic warmth balances the finish as much as the bitterness does.

May 3, 2005 Thanks to JCW for the bottle. Pours a dark orange amber. Pine, citrus hop nose. Medium sized foamy white, decent lingering. The age of this bottle is evident immediately. Citrusy hop nose feels muted. Malt flavors are more assertive against the resinous hop backbone, with an unfortunate diacetyl tinge. The finish is fairly dry, some nice residual bitterness and astringency. Mouthfeel is full, with a nice balance of syrupyness and astringency. Again, I think I would have enjoyed this much more if it had been fresher
