Commercial Description:
We're hopheads. We LOVE hops. Just can't seem to get enough of them. To satisfy our lupulin desires and to commemorate our anniversary, we've created ELEVEN. Describing this double IPA as "aggressively hopped" is an understatement. Words cannot describe what your olfactory senses are about to enjoy. Yes, it's hoppy. Shockingly hoppy. 90 IBUs.

Celebration November 2004 at CapFlu’s place. Orange-amber in colour. Aroma had huge amounts of piney citrus hops. Flavour was one-dimentional, all hops and quite sweet. Medium body and high carbonation. Finishes with a huge long hoppy bitterness. Its a good beer but I am starting to feel that this type of beer really isn’t necessary.

Bottled. Courtesy of mmather. Pours a orange copper with a medium white head. Nose is hoppy and piney. Strong hops but has a nice underlying sweetness to it. Some maple and sweet malt. Taste is very hoppy as well but again has a pleasant sweetness to it to balance it out. Pine, orange oil, bittersweet notes and light floralness. Body is bitter but well rounded. Light sharpness. Finishes with more big hop flavor and bitterness along with a decent malt backbone. Good beer!

Pulled this one up out of the basement after I threw it down there early last summer. (I’m impatient) This is a very pine-y brew, I think I’m drinking pine sap and hop juice. Very good. There were notes of citrus and a bubble gum mouthfeel. This was a great IIPA. I would recommend this.

Aroma is fruity and tropical. Has notes of caramel, pine, and bubble gum. Head is is big and creamy and lasts nicely. Lacing is excellent. Body is amber-orange. Taste is slightly sweet with a heavy long lasting bitterness. Not as fruity as some of the other double IPAs I’ve had. A little dry.

Wonderful aroma! This really set the pace for my review. Nice hoppy palate with some malt present. Sweet and flavorful with the right amount of head. A nice double IPA and well worth SERIOUS TESTING!

Orange amber color, my glass is a little hazy, maybe chill haze; the bottle is too cold, and I poured the glass to wait for it to warm up to a civilized temp. Required IIPA hop aroma, this is the standard fruity and flowery smell. Taste is rich, with a bitter-sweet character similar to DFH 90 minute. The hops, like any quality IIPA, are kept in check by a malt backbone. The finish is rich, bitter and dry, and the bitterness gains a slightly earthy quality at the very end. The alcohol is well-hidden flavor-wise...although after a bomber is drank it asserts itself in other ways, me thinks. All-in-all a worthy IIPA, and rightly in its place just barely behind the true masterpieces such as Yulesmith and Dreadnaught.

Great big head from the pour with good carbonation. BIG hops aroma. Floral and fruity. Sweet tarts come to mind. Color is a medium golden orange. Flavor is soft for the style but still very hoppy. Slightly acidic with a decent malt backbone. Very smooth drinking. Creamy finish with lots of hops again and a nice alcohol warming. A top quality double IPA.

Medium orange amber, slight haze, very nice head that slowly faded, left good lacing. Aroma initially citric, focus on grapefruit, with a biscuit malt finish. Flavor is hoppy, with notes of grapefruit melding into a very earthy note. The finish, however, is not excessively bitter. The earthy hops move into a sweet caramel finish, with some gummy tree sap notes. Surprisingly well balanced for such a hop focuse beer. I really liked this one.
