Commercial Description:
This beautiful, deep russet brew has the sweet and somewhat nutty character of Adam Avery's late (1992-2002) Chocolate Lab, for which it is named. Crystal and chocolate malts give this beer a brown sugar maltiness with hints of vanilla and nuts, while subtle hopping gives it an overall drinkability that's second to none, just like Ellie!

Pours brown with a nice tan head. Aroma is nice and malty. Taste is full of chocolate and caramel malt. This is one of the better brown ales I have had.

(Bottle). Sweet caramel aroma. Dark reddish brown body, light brown head. Flavor is very mild, on the sweet side, with caramel and cherry. Not awful, but a bit of a disappointment.

A bold brown pour with an creamy tan head. Aroma has hints of chocolate and caramel with a sweet taste of chocolate and malt. Finish is vanilla and hops with some earthy flavor to end it. Extra points for the label who looks just like my dog.

bottle. okay so I have not had this beer in like 9 years. small quickly dissapating khaki head into amber body. aromas of moderate molasses and a bit of some hops. flavor is initially moderately sweet but finishes more of a bittersweet. long finish duration. slightly dry texture. damn fine brown ale.

Bottle. Pours clear brown with an average, fizzy, brown head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (bread, cookie, caramel, nutty), light hops (herbs), average yeast (dough, earth) with notes of dates and brown paper bags. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and a chalky finish. Average duration, light sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.
