| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 27, 2008 Pours very opaque brown liquid with a strong amber hue, has a very light, beige head. Faint aroma of nuts. Flavor is a little more interesting but thats not saying a lot. Nuts and chocolate malts are noticeable. Not much body or character in this underwhelming brown ale. arventresca (343), Greenville, North Carolina, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 20, 2008 Draft at Flying Saucer Nashville. Pours a dark brown with a wisp of a tan head. Aroma of brown sugar, nuts, and vanilla. Lighter side of medium on body. There is nice balance of chocolate, nuts, vanilla, and wet grains going on here, with a subtle bitterness to keep it balanced. Perhaps a tad on the sweet side compared to other US examples, but I think it works hers. This is very complex for a brown ale, and enjoyable. I would have no problem buying this again. One of the better domestic browns IMO timfoolery (484), California, USA

Avery is hit or miss for me, and this one missed. I know there isn’t much to the Brown Ale genre, but it was just kinda blah. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
