Weak aroma of roasted malts. Good blend of roast, nuts, caramel hops...slight hop bitterness. Good beer. tmartin56 (1), Texas, USA does not count | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 20, 2008 Pours a clear dark brown with a small tan head that disappears fairly quickly. Aroma is subtle, but very malty and nutty. The flavor is sweet with a light nutty bitterness in the finish. Nice creamy feel but not too heavy. This is a nice, easy to drink brown. beerheart (237), Erie, Colorado, USA

This is a very nice brown. Medium thickness, creamy, with a good head. It has a creamy mouthfeel, oozes maltiness, and has very subtle flavors of chocolate malts and vanilla. This worked very well with the mushroom pizza made with mild cheeses that we ate. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA

Decent brown ale that pour a nice rich mahog color. Nose is sweet and malty. Taste is sugary and has a bit of a bitter and warming finish. Decent beer but nothing exciting. puggy211 (591), cordova, Tennessee, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Feb 6, 2008 Root beer or color of cola. Sweet inkling for aroma with hints of slag on the olfactory. Yes, certainly an ale, rude at times with a leathery palate. Interesting, with a bit of uncivilized offense. Overall a drinkable ale.
